The food was great. Brooks was our waiter and he was excellent. Love listening to the live music and being on the beach. Risotto was outstanding! One negative...pecan pie was a little flavorless. I love pecan pie so I'll give it another chance one night.

We thought the food was above average but what we didnt like was the fact that they add a 20% tip on AUTOMATICALLY. Now we are normally good tippers but did not like that we didnt have the choice Probabaly would not return because of this one factor

This was our first time dining here and we chose it largely based on great reviews. Being NYE, they had a special menu for the night that most others dining there chose but it was a lot of food. Every table that ordered that had leftovers to take home. We thought it would be too much to eat so we ordered the flounder off the regular menu. Possibly the best meal we have had in nearly 20 years living on the Grand Strand. Every bite of the rolls, salad, entree, and sides was delicious!

Our first night at the Island Vista we decided to try The Cypress Room for dinner. Sat at the bar and my beau had a beer and I had a Crown Royal apple & salted caramel concoction. For dinner we ordered pizza and wings. It was delicious! Fresh made dough, sauce and veggies. Wings were cooked thru and crispy on the outside-just like I wanted. Our bartender was accommodating and staff were friendly! Chill atmosphere & quiet for a Friday night but it was November. Our second night, we called in an order to pick up. We both decided on a Cypress Room Burger! Cooked to order. I loved the smoky bacon and red marmalade onions! Fries were seasoned and crispy on the outside. We will be eating here on our next visit! Remember they add gratuity to each bill and it’s well deserved!

Lovely ocean front restaurant with great service. Food is very good but the menu is somewhat limited. My husband thinks they serve the best steaks on the beach. Love the live music and bar bites. If you're looking for a beautiful ocean setting for dinner this is it.

The best service we've had in a long time, very nice environment. Food was good but not as good as I was hoping. Had a Caesar salad with salmon but didn't have much dressing on it and the croutons were so big and hard you couldn't hardly eat them. Otherwise food was okay.

We are frequent stayers at the Island Vista Resort. We barely have eaten breakfast in the Cypress Room. This time. I ordered for pick up. When I went to pick up the order, they had given me almost less than a cup of apple juice for my kids. Since they are teenagers, I asked for a full cup ( which is small) and she said she would charge me more. She ended up charging me 2 small and 2 large for a total of $16.00 for 2 small cups!! What a rip off ( I didn’t see the bill until later, my mistake!) Then my husband had asked for extra Holliandise sauce for his eggs, they charged $3.50 for a tiny container! You would think they would just throw it in there, but no, they charge everything!!! Therefore, I ended up paying almost $100.00 for breakfast ( $99.35 to be exact for 4 people!) The food was so-so, nothing to rave about! My kid’s French toast had no flavor and tasted like two slices of bread toasted and soggy! Pancakes were flat and were nothing extraordinary . The English muffins were as hard as my head! Too overpriced! You are better off going to a local pancake house and get more for your money! I will never order here again! The place is nice, that’s the only good thing I could say about this place!

Beware of bad food and mediocre service. My husband’s soup was cold. My food was lukewarm. The crab cakes were basically fried cornbread with crab flavoring minus crab. With an automatic 20 percent gratuity the waiter had no incentive to give good service, and didn’t.
