This was our first dinner in Myrtle Beach and we were so excited to have local raw oysters. Imagine our disappointment when we’re learned they were imported from Louisiana! My husband ordered a Manhattan which was shaken rather than stirred. I asked for blue cheese stuffed olives with my martini and the waitress laughed as she shared the owner snacks on them often so they were out. The shrimp and grits and the fishes tacos were tasty but the drinks and appetizers had already soured us.

Very disappointed. The calamari was from a bag of frozen food dumped in a fryer and over cooked. We ordered Fish & Chips. The menus in hand and on line said comes with fry’s and Cole slaw. When we ordered we were asked do you want slaw or fry’s. We were then told the menus were wrong. Really who serves Fish & Chips and does not give you fry’s and Cole slaw. Should be fish and one option not fish & chips. There are too many good choices to go back here. I won’t even talk about the wine.

Really wanted to try this place, based on recommendations and web description. So we called, pressed 1 as instructed to make a reservation, and NO ANSWER. So we drove over around 6:30 pm and clearly THEY WERE CLOSED. How hard is it to update your voicemail or website to say you’re closed—and are you just closed on Mondays, or is it Forever?

We have been going to Brother Shuckers for the past two years and we have noticed a change in the quality of their food. We went 2 weeks ago to celebrate my birthday. Upon arriving we were seated promptly but waited 10 minutes for a server, there were only 4 tables seated at that time. Our server was pleasant and apologized that no one told her that it was her table. I ordered my favorite the crab cakes and Mac and Cheese and my husband had grilled fish. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw my plate of crab cakes and ramaken of mac and cheese. The crab cakes were not lump crab, like they were in the past. This was mostly filler and very little crab, looks like frozen from some grocery supply. Absolutely disgusting. The mac and cheese was always baked in a ramaken with yummy browned cheese and elbow macaroni. What they served was a ramaken what looked and tasted to be Velveeta and Shells. My husband said his grilled fish was good but very small portion. It's a shame that this local restaurant is not serving the quality of food they have in the past. I doubt we will be returning anytime soon.

Decided to try this restaurant after seeing pictures on Facebook of luscious, lumpy crab cakes. Don’t believe those pictures. The crab cakes had no lump crab meat at all. They were small and very mushy. Worst crab cake ever. On a positive note, the Mac & Cheese was very good and the Fried Oyster Feast was also very good. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive.

After looking at the reviews I decided to go to Brother Shuckers. All the photos made the food look delicious. Then I visited their website. It appears their menu has been shrunk due to the pandemic. Also they wrote on their website that this is their new official menu. And any previous outdated menus and prices found on 1Google, 2Yelp, 3Facebook, 4TripAdvisor or anywhere else will not be honored. I get that but it sounded rude. And they did not provide any new prices. Like most places I'm sure their prices have raised considerably. But to make the menu smaller and charge more without being upfront about the prices, made me feel uneasy about going to this establishment. So even though the reviews are good from years ago, I decided not to chance it. Check their website before you go and see if they list the prices and have a full menu. In this case I think it's a good idea to check their website and not take any individuals word for it. Things change all the time.

We visited this restaurant when it first opened and it was fantastic, I'm sad to say it has dramatically gone down hill since. Starting with the "B" health department rating on the door, that was a turnoff. We arrived at 5:00 specifically for the early bird specials advertised on their website but the server never mentioned the special at all until I asked and he begrudgingly brought us the menus for it. Then I was told I couldn't substitute Mac n cheese for my side dish because it only comes in a family size serving but it read clearly listed as a side dish for another Entree and it was listed with the other regular sides. So basically you can get Mac n cheese with a crab cake but not with a fish fillet....makes no sense. The portions were SMALL. I got one fillet of flounder (which was very watery) and fries, my husband and daughter got 5 shrimp and fries. We had water for drinks and the bill was $56 after tip. Not worth it at all! So sad to say that we won't be back. I'm sure there's better seafood to be found in a beach town.

Never write reviews but this place got everything right, drinks were great, food was incredible (tuna jasmine rice wow). They also have great live music every night. Thanks to all the staff, from the English guy!

Nice place away from the tourist crowds. The blackened grouper was excellent! Wait staff very knowledgeable and gave some points of interest to visit. The wife loved her grab stuffed scrimp.

Had dinner there this evening and the service was excellent. Came by for lunch, around two but because of staffing issues, having issues everywhere, didn’t open until 4. Call ahead and make reservation. My husband had the She Crab soup and we shared their shrimp and flounder combo, excellent. Granddaughter had their shrimp and pasta, good but could us more seasoning. We had visited this restaurant three years ago with our other two grandchildren and always wanted to return. Couldn’t remember their name but came across on Trip Advisory, yeah! It’s not on the beaten path of a lot of beach restaurants but certainly worth checking them out!

Been here before. All in all a good experience. Servers were very attentive. Salad was weak, no tomato, croutons, peppers. They were out of linguini with clam sauce and 3 of us ordered it. Strange because we were the first customers of the day . Still it’s a good place to dine

Did not feel like a tourist trap and the food was great! It was busy, but my wife and I were able to be seated immediately. Kelsey 2 was our waitress and so helpful and kind. Ordered: Crab dip — rich and fresh tasting! Jumbo Grilled Shrimp — my wife said was fresh and good! Large portion too. Linguini Mussel w/ white sauce — delightful! For such a great meal our bill was only $55 too! Can’t beat that. We will definitely return when coming back to Myrtle.

First day of vacation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and first dinner stop on my foodie tour, Brother Schuckers. Excellent service from the moment you walk in the door until you finish your delicious food. I had the Fish and Chips. Perfect! Also, shout out to our wonderful waiter, Blake! Go check out this great restaurant and ask for Blake as your waiter!
