I went in to Ronnie's to grab lunch for a friend and myself. I went to the bar and waited cause there was no server. The cashier came to fix the plate when a gentleman came from the kitchen and she mumbles "good help is hard to find". The gentleman begins to fox my order. He gets my first plate fixed and then goes into some kind of daze as he is scratching his shoulder. I mention to him what I want he says ok but does not move. The owner who has been sitting at the table gets up comes to the bar and opens the plate. I calmly state that I no longer want the plate because he did not wash his hands. He said he did I leaned closer because I could not believe the owner was being so rude. I was in the mist of saying the customer is always right when Ronnie picked up the plate as if he was going to throw it at me and say" now your not going to get it" and told me to get out. I left with a few choice words of my own. Ronnie's will never get another penny from me. The whole place needs to be revamped starting with ownership all the way down to the decor. This used to be a bustling business due to the homestyle food bur that isn't guaranteed. I had pancakes about 2weeks ago that had been fried in the same grease as every piece of meat in the building. Customer service is key in this type of business. The quality of the food has gone down, the name itself is misleading, and the cheap labor speaks for itself. Never going here again. I didn't feel safe and will not put myself at risk on this establishment.

We been enjoying Ronnie's restaurant for 20+ yrs. Wonderful people, delicious foods n nostalgic settings. Always clean.Love the way a small sink is available with a soap dispenser n paper towels just before the buffet bar.Menues are available if you prefer.(On Sundays, buffet bar only.)Vegetarian options: All veggies are delicious, just like the way my mom n granny makes them!Don't want your veggies cooked? They have fresh salads, any way you'd like!Parking: Ronnie's restaurant is very easy to drive into the parking lot. The parking lot has plenty of spaces, even for big buses/campers/RVs; might hold up to 3 semi trucks(if permissible) on the far end of the lot. The parking lot is inside of a small plaza shopping center.Kid-friendliness: High chairs are available for small tots. Waitresses are very nice to all diners, big or small! Always ready to assist you.Wheelchair accessibility: Concrete sidewalk n ramp, easy entrance to door. Rocking chairs outside in case there is a wait, (very rare) or just want to enjoy the breeze n the view!

Good food and friendly staff...only problem I have is with the "all u can eat" buffet...On Fridays is seafood, but you have to get either "country cooking" or the seafood; at the all u can eat price and the limited different options on the buffet, you should be able to get anything you want!

It's not Buffet, it should be renamed because it's against the law to use false advertising.! Period!I ordered the baby catfish. I received three huge peices of fish that tasted wonderful. My man got popcorn shrimp. Was frozen and not as good as it should been. Well it wasn't bad. One way in , and one way out! Way too expensive for the quality but It wasnt completely terrible.. Ronnie this is not an all you can eat.. STOP TRICKING US to come in there CHANGE YOUR ADVERTISING!...

If you are in Newberry on a Monday this might be your only true sit down to eat option as most are closed.

The buffet had 1 green vegetable! But HEY 3 different gravy’s for your potatoes or rice! They fix your plate for a Buffet and charge 16.50 for lunch! NO drink included for that price! We will not be going back. Save your money not worth the price for the selection to choose from. Not to mention the unfriendly person at the register!

What happen? In past times Ronnie's served home cooked meal and they were great. This time the chicken was dry and hard, the vegetables were out of the can and the desserts were something thrown together without taste. What a shame as the meals were not cheap. Where is quality and pride in the food world--what a shame.
