Not a restaurant. Just a house.
We decided to go based on TripAdvisor reviews and menu we read on line. Waitress told story how Gordon Ramsey help original owner. We ordered bottle of wine and stuffed mushrooms. We got there early and glad because by 6:30 they were very busy. We ordered Redfish Carole and stuffed Group. It was excellent. We ordered dessert to go and took back to hotel. Planning to return when traveling back from Florida. Well worth the stop.
I had dinner at this location and was disappointed. After being seated, I ordered a drink and a meal that included a salad. After a short wait, my drink, salad and meal all came at once. The waitress said she didn't think everything would be ready so fast. I explained that normally a person gets their drink first, then the salad, then the meal. When I went to pay, they couldn't find my ticket or order. After about 5 minutes of searching they either found it or made up a new ticket for me. Not the best service.
I was in town on business and stopped in for supper. I had the fried oysters, fries, salad and a drink. After s wait, everything came at one time. Drink, oysters, and the salad. Thats not how its supposed to happen. My waitress said she didn't expect the food order so fast. The fries were greasy to the point I passed on them. The oysters were ok, but not enough for the price. Overall I was disappointed in both the service and food.
Couldn't wait to visit them in their new location in the former South Main Grill. Family ordered four different entrees. Three were excellent but the veal cutlet was average. Service was great and the price was reasonable. Went early on a Tuesday night (5:30) got a table right away but the restaurant filled up quickly.
Unfortunately the restaurant had a fire on January 8th and has been shut down since then, hopefully they find a new location and come out of thid situation.

First time last night - 3 adults and 2 kids. We all really liked our food. Fish, chicken and hamburger. Nice atmosphere and waiter great.
Food was Great!!!! I will be back to try more.
My daughter and I were in town for the Mississippi Marathon and needed a restaurant that would give us a boost in nutrition and morale for the rigorous event the next morning. Sherman's was perfect! It did not let us down and we ran well the next day. The fried catfish melted in our mouths and the prompt, friendly service melted our hearts. It was very popular, so get there early and enjoy!
My family ate here while visiting from out of town. Very disappointing. Service was pitiful. Food was mediocre. Wife ordered tea. Tasted bad so asked for a Coke. Got charged for both. Try somewhere else.
I regularly visit the Leland/Greenville area for business, but a cold and rainy Thursday evening was my first opportunity to visit Sherman’s. It’s a large space inside but the crowd was sparse, maybe 25-30 total while I was there. Service was friendly and moved at a nice pace. The decor was nice, but seemed familiar yet somewhat out of place for the Delta. (Someone told me later that they had a makeover a couple of years back courtesy of Gordon Ramsey which explained it for me.) I had the short ribs, a new item on the menu and was very pleased with the flavor and texture, though I might have preferred them served bone-in. They were served with a generous helping of silky mashed potatoes and some big cooked carrots that were a bit too crunchy. Braised greens on the side were a tasty version of pot greens (collards) typically to the region. I finished with an order of bread pudding. It was very tasty but the texture was not my favorite. It seemed like it was was made with common sliced white bread whisky didn’t lend much height or texture/firmness to the dish. With a nice glass of wine the meal ran about $40 with tax and before tip. Overall, I was quite satisfied with the meal and wasn’t surprised to hear later from local friends that Sherman’s is considered one of the top two or three best restaurants in the Greenville area.
