Drove from Waterloo to Ninety-six to try the China 1 Chinese restaurant. Has good word of mouth reviews around this area. Have simply quit eating Chinese out in Greenwood and Laurens. The place is mostly a take-out but there are tables for dining in. The atmosphere is bland to say the least. The food is really good. In this area it's the best I've had. I like to test a new place so I ordered the Roast Pork with Chinese Vegs. Combo and egg roll. Very impressed for this area. Roast pork was real Char Sue pork and plenty of it. There were Chinese Vegs with large dose of Broccoli and Carrots. Fairly normal now. Fried rice was simple but tasty. Not frozen with the peas and square carrots. The eggs rolls are delicious and probably hand made in house. My wife had the Sesame Chicken, which was as good as I have had. This is a book you don't judge by its cover. Take out service was very brisk while we were there. There is no table service or fountain drinks. Grab a drink out the fridge and order at the window. In this area this is Five Star Food.

I’ve had the General Tso and sesame chicken meal which comes with egg roll and rice options. My complaint is that the tasty sauce disguises many fried crust pieces which rarely reveal chicken meat. Marinated chunks of fried batter has flavor but the absence of chicken meat drops the rating.
