Literally the most expensive and skimpiest curry I have ever had. I ordered pick up. One of my favorite foods is curry. I used to live in Thailand and it reminds me of home. The curry I got here was less than 8oz of broth. I legit didn't even use the rice because if I had it'd just be rice with a drop of curry broth. The worst part is this is the most expensive curry I have purchased in Charleston. Save your money and go anywhere else.

I hate to leave a negative review, however, my experience at Basil last night was so terrible that I feel compelled to do so. It was extremely busy and they were clearly understaffed, so my party and I were trying to give them some grace and be patient, however it took over an hour after ordering drinks to even get the drinks, two of which were never delivered (2 canned beers, 1 bottled beer and 1 glass of wine). The food took over an hour as well, and they didn’t bring it all out. In fact, my meal was never brought out. They didn’t deliver any rice with the curries. We had to ask 3 times to various people before finally one bowl of rice was brought out, by which time the curry was cold. We ordered soup for the table that was served in a metal carafe type thing which was dropped off without any spoons or bowls. We had to wait for someone to come by and specifically ask for bowls (not sure how they thought we were going to eat the soup?) We didn’t complain and simply asked that they made sure to not charge us for the food/drinks that were never brought out. Not once did anyone apologize or try to reconcile for the disaster of a dinner. I certainly wouldn’t expect any free food or anything, but I would, at the very least, expect an acknowledgment and apology for the clear mistakes and awful service. 0/10 would recommend. Wish I could give some positive review for the food or something but I never received my meal so…

The food isn't as good as it was at the one on King St. Guess I'll have to find another place for Basil Duck

Very mediocre Thai that is mostly dumbed down. The Thai Beef Salad is more like a typical salad with a Thai dressing that was heavy on the fish sauce. The Spring Rolls were mostly rice noodles and some small bits of shrimp. If you like real Thai this isn’t the spot.

Pad Thai was excellent. Red curry shrimp was chicken brothy. The brown rice was excellent. The water did not taste filtered. The waitress never came back after she served the food.

OK! This place is amazing, me and my spouse were just popping by to place an order to go but ending up sitting down. The waitress Savannah was lovely, we had a great conversation (glasses are the cutest,) with her … even when we forgot the steamed dumplings had pork *we do not eat* and we ordered/replaced with the stuffed shrimp. A1 I mean the flakiness was gorgeous, color and even the taste. The sauce was splendid, I got really excited lol I wanted to order more. Ok sorry. Our entrees were the sweet and sour (beef gf) and basil (beef gf.) I looooved the Basil, the juice and the amount was more than expected and after a long day of work it was filling. My spouse enjoyed the sweet and sour, he said he just couldn’t stop eating it and also that’s definitely what it felt like for me too. ❤️ Please go here, we enjoyed it.

I love Basil!! It’s my favorite Thai restaurant ever it’s so good n tasty. I’ve eaten here countless of times and it’s always so delicious. Every time I go the food is always fresh and cooked perfectly. All their food is made with high quality for sure. I am absolutely obsessed with their fried egg rolls they are the best I’ve ever had. Everything on the menu is so good you can’t go wrong. I also love that they can make your food spicy if that what you like. My favorites are the spring rolls, stuffed shrimp, fried wontons, chicken satay, larb, Tom Kai Gai soup, pad Thai, basil chicken, Barramundi shrimp/fish, basil chicken, masaman curry there are just so many amazing dishes. I would 100% recommend this place and it’s one of my favorite restaurants in Charleston hands down!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5

This was my first time eating at a Thai restaurant. I had stuffed shrimp egg roll as my appetizer with the vegetable delight with chicken and Peach Blossom cocktail. The egg roll was hot, fresh and crispy. The broth from the vegetable delight was well seasoned. The vegetables were still crunchy not soaked in the broth. My cousin had fried chicken wings with shrimp fried rice and an Armaretto. The chicken wings were crunchy and well seasoned. For spicy food lovers, this dish would be up your alley. The shrimp fried rice was well seasoned, the shrimp were jumbo and delicious. Our waiters name was Kelly. She was funny, attentive, and very nice. I can see myself going back here again.

If I could give it zero stars I would, excessive waiting time. They don't care how long you have to wait, wait 45 minutes outside with cold because it was supposedly full and there were many people when it wasn't like that so I recommend you don't come 😒
I want whoever in management to read this feedback because this is a consistent experience.
Basil Park Circle needs to improve its online service.
On February 7, 2025, I arrived to pick up a Doordash customer order at Basil Park Circle. I was notified before arrival that the order was ready.
I arrived at 8:22 pm at Basil Park Circle. Basil staff member, (very nice) told me the order wasn't ready.
I don't blame the staff and hostess for the Doordash order not being ready. I blame the management of Basil Park Circle.
I have been doing online deliveries for over 7 years. I can tell if a restaurant knows how to manage online orders and their dine-in customers in real time or not.
In the past, I have waited 30 - 40 minutes for an online orders.
But with this customer order, mentioned above, it was 30 minutes.
When Basil Park Circle gets busy with dine-in customers and Doordash customers, there will be a long wait period for Doordash orders (including any third-party delivery orders).
I understand that a restaurant needs to make a profit to be sustainable in its location.
But restaurants, (including Basil Park Circle), needs to understand that Doordash Customers and Ubereats customers blame the delivery driver if the order doesn't arrive on time, or blame the delivery driver if an item that is missing from the order, despise if the driver didn't tamper with the order.
I have asked Doordash to block me from receiving any orders from Basil Park Circle.

The service was very nice, but unfortunately the food is not good, especially for the price and serving size. The first dish my friend and I split was the red curry with chicken. The chicken meat was tough first off. Also, the sauce lacked a good consistency and seemed watery with a lack of richness in flavor. The next dish we got was the our appetizer (they served our main course first) and it was the spring rolls. They thinly sliced the shrimp, and put very little basil in it. It was 90% rice noodles. By the time my friend and I got our last dish which was the Tom Yum we had one taste and sent it back. Sadly, for about $20 a dish I would say skip it this place. It was not worth the money.
