10 outta 10 DO NOT recommend. We USED to love this place but tonight the service was ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. There was hardly anyone in there and we waited almost a for our food. The couple next to us waited almost an hour and a half for their food just for it to not be cooked correctly. My Husband’s cup sat empty for almost 20 minutes and the server walked by and glanced at it 4 times now 🙄 I can’t believe how badly this place has gone downhill. After tonight we sadly will not be returning. Everyone around us was just as annoyed as us waiting for their food.

Waitresses are always friendly.
The food is no longer up to the Brecks standard. The food was made from frozen. No longer the freshness that it once was.

This is a great locally owned spot that does a great job in the kitchen and in service.
This is definitely one of those businesses that when people say support your local businesses, this is a great example of those who you should support.
If you feel like a great steak, from one of those mainstream, bug chain restaurants, come here instead. The prices are better, the food is better, and you wont be treated like a turn and burn type of customer. You will get a lot better attention, and a more personable service. The atmosphere is also a lot quieter and you can hear yourself talk, instead of 200 people all yelling to talk to each other, 1 foot away from each other.

As a local, you should definitely make this a top spot to frequent locally.
If you are from out of town, i would definitely check out this place over commercial restaurants, you can get back home

Top service, very helpful and pleasant. Fair prices and weather to please. Food was ok-NY Strip, potatoe, broccoli and Artichoke dip. Tea was weak, onions were undercooked, and all else was good and plentiful. Onsite bar as well. Good parking but difficult to get out due to the constant 3 lanes of traffic.

Brecks is a local favorite. I been eating there since I was a kid. Great home style food, average prices, and a laid back atmosphere. What's not to love. If you're ever close by,swing in and grab one of their famous steaks. If you don't have time, grab a order of fried frog legs to go.....

Breck's has been around for a long time and tells you they have found their niche. It is a hole in the wall. Atmosphere is zero. The room we were in was pained battleship grey along with the tables. Menu is a couple of pieces of paper stapled together that have seen better days. The prices are cheap and the food is good. My steak was overcooked but we were a large party and I know that's hard to manage. It was a slow weeknight. But the steak was still good, not tough or gristly. Which I have gotten at other places around town while paying for an expensive cut. It is out of the way for us not not a usual stop. I bet a busy night is a fun time to people watch. I'd certainly go again because it does what it does and I am just trying to be honest so some Instagramer is not surprised if they go. The server was great and patient with my disorganized guests.

Went in on a weekday- Thursday (June 12 at 1:50) for lunch. We were a party of 2 & there was 1 other customer (policeman)- place was empty. Received no greeting from staff- this was our first time at this restaurant (we read the sign to seat ourselves- so we did). We waited 10mins & no one talked to us. The waitress looked over at us 3 times & decided to talk to the police officer instead for a few mins after serving his food. We don’t know why she avoided us-part of me thinks maybe it’s because I’m Asian & she didn’t want to be of service. It’s sad because my husband was really excited to try out this place- heard a lot of good reviews about it. Waitress was around (maybe 40’s?) tall, brunette with her hair tied up in a big messy bun.

We have been eating here since the mid 90’s we are here in April all was well went last weekend service was terrible menu has been changed and not for the better. No more 30oz steak the only thing that was good were fried mushrooms. Had to ask for the appetizer plates. Slow service waitress acted clueless didn’t get the order right. Saw where they had been closed end of April into the first of May for “training” figured it had been sold and under new management/ownership. Asked the waitress she denied it new menu bad service and when I paid the bill it came up on my card as “chill and grill.” Only 3 tables of people on a Saturday night including us bad service new menu. Another hidden gem gone! Maybe we’ll close up!

Upgraded menu and removed the 30 ounce sirloin. Replaced it with a 10 ounce for 5$ less. This place will close down soon.
