Charleston Catering

We had our wedding on 12/14/24 on the Carolina Girl Yacht, and we used charleston catering and events as our caterer. The actual staff that served us, Renee and Terri, were amazing and the reason for the stars given. Amber, was great until our date came closer. I honestly believe she needs help in the office with all the business they seem to have. It got so bad that the week of our wedding we had already contacted another rush last minute caterer on the yacht list to be our back up (which we will be using later this year). Our actual complaint was that the food was disappointing, our guest weren't satisfied (complaints on dry chicken with hard pieces in it, cold food, etc). We had 47 guest, our menu was a taco bar with 3 passing appetizers (fried mac and cheese balls, petite tomato pies, and brie crostinis). Our total was $3900. When there was an issue on the day (ie wrong item on the bar), the staff did their best in fixing it by calling the chef and Amber. We over heard Amber, on speaker phone, talking about us and the issue. This was very unprofessional. Amber was supposed to be there, but did not come. Her staff, like previously stated, did their best and was great. I contacted by email my complaints and was met with a more passive aggressive angle on what the staff perceived versus what I was actually told. All I actually wanted was a genuine apology on the missed item on our menu and the issues on the day of our wedding. I am sadden this chain of events happened. I can't get this part of our day back or reverse what happened. I hope a lesson was learned and that Amber gets help in the office to ensure that all clients are satisfied (especially for such memorable big days).

I've had the pleasure of working with these fine folks on a handful of occasions. They have exceeding my expectations as well as serve amazing food!

Amber and her team are AMAZING. 10 out of 10!!! We used Charleston Catering and Events for a small wedding. From beginning to the end I cannot say enough good things. After the first phone call I had with Amber, there was no question that everything was going to be perfect and then the tasting confirmed that. The tasting was absolutely incredible and the day of the wedding, it couldn’t have been better. We had one vegan guest who they made sure to take care of which was incredible. My vegan guest actually told me that she has never been so taken care of at any event and how thankful she was. On top of that, as soon as we said I do and made our way down the aisle, members of their team were there asking us what we needed and what they could get for us. The level of service was absolutely top notch. They were seriously beyond hospitable and every single one of our wedding guests noticed how amazing they were. The attention to detail, the flavor, the service was perfect. And on top of that, they also got some fantastic photos and videos that they were kind enough to send to me. I cannot recommend them enough!!

We do not have enough good things to say about Charleston Catering! They catered our wedding and let me tell you, it literally could not have been better. The bride has Celiac and Keith, the head chef, took every precaution to make sure she would not get sick. The Hors D’oeuvres at cocktail hour were absolutely mind blowing, which made everyone excited for the dinner.
The dinner was absolutely fantastic. The whole team made every effort to make our vision a reality and provide the most delicious and clean meals I think we have ever had. The table bussers did a fantastic job making sure trash wasn’t left on the tables, and we were even pleasantly surprised when someone specifically made an effort to bring us (the bride and groom) a plate of Hors D’oeuvres immediately after the ceremony. Charleston Catering really elevated our event from great, to unforgettable. Thank you Keith, and the whole team at Charleston Catering!!!

I cannot say enough good things about Amber and her team at Charleston Catering & Events. From the initial menu creation to the tasting and every detail between Amber was fabulous to work with. Her experience in the industry is apparent and she nailed all the details. We opted for stations and the set up was gorgeous … the FOOD! We received so many compliments on the food all throughout the night. The risotto bar was a hit as were the shrimp and grits. People were so pleased to see the steak be cut and served right in front of them. We had several serious allergies and celiacs at our wedding and they were so conscious of these guests and providing them options. You truly cannot go wrong working with this team if you want a trustworthy catering team that will deliver and to top it all off keep things budget friendly.

I cannot say enough about how great this company is! We booked them as caterers for our March wedding and every aspect of working with them was incredible! Amber and Keith were so helpful from the start with putting a menu together and answering a million questions, to the end of serving incredible food. We are still getting compliments about how good the food was, weeks after our wedding! The service was just as good too; there was a specific server who had set up the sweetheart table for my husband and I with a plate of every food option we had so that we could try a little bit of everything. I can't describe how nice that was, we actually got to eat! If you are looking for wedding catering and found these guys, stop thinking- book them.

{Wray/Rysanek wedding at Society Hall on 1/6/2024}I want to thank Amber and her team for doing an extraordinary job at my daughter's wedding last week in Charleston at Society Hall on Meeting Street. The food selections were outstanding, and the service impeccable. But my gratitude goes deeper than just loving the great food.This was a large wedding (for me, at least) with at least 130 people in a building that had two floors and an outside garden where we held the bourbon and cigar bar. There were a lot of moving pieces between the rental company (for everything from trash cans to coffee pots) and all the other vendors, and Amber's team worked right along side with everyone else to make sure the day was perfect.As usual with big events, there were last minute things that were out of our control (weather, illness, etc) but Amber's attention to detail and control of the situations helped save the day. I just can't say enough great things about Amber and her team. The food stations upstairs were a huge hit, and the dessert set up downstairs (after the wedding planning team cleaned up after the cocktail hour) ended up being perfect. (and it was one of the last minute changes!)Because of Amber's professionalism, and that of her team, I was able to relax and enjoy the reception. And that's something I will always be grateful for. So I want to give a huge shout out and even larger recommendation to Amber and Charleston Catering. If you need a professional caterer who will work with you individually, listen to your needs, and anticipate all of the potential issues with putting on a large party, I highly recommend Amber. She and her team are awesome. And I regret I only have one daughter to throw a reception for. :) Huge thanks again for a memorable night!*I wish I had more photos of the food, but as soon as I find some I will post them here.

Amber, Keith and their team were fantastic as usual for my latest event. They serve fantastic food, reasonable prices (which is rare in this town) and they do a great job with presentation. They are reliable and easy to work with - I highly recommend!

Charleston Catering & Events has done several events for me including office lunches, catered dinners, gift deliveries, etc. and everything is delicious! Most recently we enjoyed their Thanksgiving package and everything tasted homemade; not mass produced. Felt like they had been in my kitchen cooking it all day. Their responsiveness, creativity and professionalism are topped off with it being absolutely delicious food. Cannot recommend Charleston Catering enough!

Amber, Keith, and their staff were wonderful to work with. The food they created for our wedding was so delicious and I’ve never had better at a wedding. We did stations with two different types of shrimp and grits, a pasta bar, and a steak bar- they customize each food for exactly what we wanted. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to work with for our wedding food! Amber was also always an email, phone call, or text away and quickly responded to every question or concern i had (and yes with COVID I had lots of questions!). Highly recommend!

Felicia Simon is a beast when it comes to bake goods. Her artistic designs are one in a million and her customer service skills are excellent.

The owners are very nice and very helpful especially if you are just starting out! Great kitchen space with everything you need right there!
