As a vegetarian, it was amazing to find this place.I wanted tacos, but Mike recommended the burgers. Best recommendation ever. It was one of the best veggie burgers I’ve ever had.And the sweet potato fries are so sweet they’re like a dessert. And the fried okra are spot on done.Every time I visit Charleston, I’ll make a point of visiting Mike and getting some killer vegetarian soul food!Vegetarian options: Tacos, burgers, sides and salads. Excellent use of Impossible meat.

Called in a to-go order, and they said 20 minutes. Got there in 15 minutes, and it was ready. The fish has a nice lightly golden brown breading, and the French fries were hot and yummy. The crab rice was very good and reasonably priced. It's worth a try for takeout.

Stayed at a hotel nearby and this place was recommended. I’ve been to a lot of hole in the walls but this one takes the cake. We came in and wasn’t acknowledged for almost 30 mins. The waitress walked by us numerous times and didn’t say anything. I wanted to leave but other people in the party wanted to stay. Finally we asked her should we just sit anywhere. The waitress clearly didn’t want to be at work that day. She had a look of disgust. It was also loud and ghetto with a lot of clowning and cursing. Your employees represent your business. Just like I heard about this restaurant by word of mouth, there will be people that tell others to stay away. I try to support black businesses but this experience left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I frequent Charleston for business. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my puppy. Imagine coming to a restaurant feeling like they doing us a favor by allowing us to be under their roof. The owner needs to clean house and get new employees with a better attitude. #DOBETTER#

Though not flashy on the outside, it is now on our must-visit list for when we go back to the area.The atmosphere is casual with a great playlist of music & the staff made us feel like family.The selection of food was good & the flavor was even better.
