I visited this coffee shop for the first time with my family and was so smitten by it! It is run by the sweetest husband and wife duo, Tyler and Kennedy, who are passionate about vintage clothing, good coffee, and great customer service. I tried one of the Fall Seasonal drinks, the iced Charlie Brown latte, and it was delicious! My boys also ate a few of the muffins that are supplied by a local bakery and really enjoyed them. I wish I would have had more time to sit and sip my coffee because the atmosphere is so warm and inviting. If you are in the area, I cannot recommend Herbert’s enough! 10/10!

I loved discovering Herbert’s Vintage and Coffee while staying at the Starlight Inn across the street — it’s an easy, quick morning walk and one of the most welcoming places I found in Charleston, SC. Their vintage clothing selection is beautifully curated (I found an amazing locally-made candle too!), and the seasonal maple latte was so good I came back the next day for an iced matcha latte.
The decor and vibe are truly unique — full of character, not commercial, clearly locally owned — and I noticed the staff were kind to everyone who came in. It’s clear they care about the neighborhood and community as much as great coffee and style.
If you’re exploring Charleston and want a place that combines creative local vintage, excellent coffee, and genuine people, and a unique aesthetic, Herbert’s is perfect!

Herberts is amazing & owned by amazing folks! I’d make a trip to Charleston just for this place. Highly recommend
This isn’t just a coffee shop or vintage store, it’s a whole experience! With its thoughtful collection of decor and the outfit of the space, the shop vibes are perfection. Delicious coffee, super friendly and skilled baristas, and really well curated vintage clothing. Whether you’re intentionally coming for the clothing or you just stumbled in looking for caffeine, this shop will not disappoint!

This is a decent coffee shop. It gives off a bit of a “pinkies out” vibe—kind of that first wave of gentrification. I felt a bit of a pang going there considering the area it’s in. I really hope North Charleston invests in more Black-owned businesses (and who knows, maybe this place is one) so the area doesn’t turn into another whitewashed section of Charleston.
It might seem a little harsh to knock them on atmosphere, but the vibe just didn’t feel like it fit the neighborhood. Maybe that’s part of what “honest” gentrification looks like, but it definitely stood out and felt kind of cringe.

AMAZING coffee and vintage shop in North Charleston! The owner makes you feel welcome, by engaging in genuine conversation while producing delicious brews. Fair prices on vintage clothes and goods, AND he even has a good selection of men's vintage clothing! Hoping this gem becomes the newest addition to the list of Charleston staples.

This coffee shop is adorable, so cozy, and has the BEST latte in Charleston.
Second time in and only got a coffee this time, but still peeked around! The owners/ staff are as friendly as could be, a cool range of clothes, and the strawberry shortcake latte I got today was amazing
