Food is usually good but went at 7:20 and they were only taking to go orders because they were about to close - at 8 PM. I get it, I usually try not to go somewhere at closing time but 40 minutes is plenty of time in a mostly empty restaurant to sit and eat a meal before close.

Istanbul Shish Kabob knocked it out of the park today. A little bit of background I lived in Turkey for 2.5yrs, and they took me right back with a specialty item named Chicken Tava (special order, not on the menu). I had him make both chicken and shrimp. I haven't had it in 22 years! I am impressed with the tastes and customer service here. They are top-notch. If you haven't had this dish, you are missing out on one of Turkey's greatest dishes, in my opinion. My family loved everything from the Tava to the kebabs,fries, fresh hot Pita bread, garlic sauce, and falafel. We will 100% go back and eat there. Fresh food with great taste! My kids said you get 10 stars!

Tired of eating burgers or pizza?Istanbul Shish Kebab is definitely a great place to try if in Charleston.Started off the meal with HOT rolls and an assortment of olives, vegetables and garlic paste. Be careful....you WILL ruin your appetite, because it's very good and hard to stop eating.We opted for the four person platter. It had an assortment of chicken, beef, lamb, vegetables and seasoned rice.Healthy portion size...We are four voracious eaters, and we still had enough to take out.Staff was friendly, and EVERYTHING was fantastic.

I appreciate that your ingredients and dishes are authentic and not Americanized. The cream with the bread is incredible. I would like to see more lamb and goat on the menu and no french fries. I will bring my friends to your great restaurant. Thanks again for the yummy appetizer!

Amazing food and spectacular service. Enjoyed every dish we ordered. The mix grill is to die for. The Hummus is very authentic and the fresh bread was the icing on the kick..This is a MUST visit if you are in the Charleston area.
