You get what you pay for. Dirty, smelly, noise all night long, heat didn't work right, room was grungy, they're idea of breakfast was no juice no actual food. Some Walmart waffles and the toaster didn't work, bananas were old, cereal but no milk, no syrup oatmeal but nothing to make it with. Do not recommend to anyone ,smelled of nasty cigarettes everywere

Hotel smells like smoking hallways smelling like brother hood hood I was told that there is going to be a continental breakfast but that a lie need more lights in the parking lot. Manager didn't show up today thx miles DONT EVER STAY HERE they have black guys smoking in the front door and I'm sure the have homeless and prostitution going on in this ghetto motel I wouldn't even call this place hotel. I was told they have continental breakfast but that's a lie. They had brown bag oj and small muffins. This place is never cleaned smell like some kind of illegal smoke hallways smells like some kind of cigarette idk rude front desk John he said that's his name but it's not. I wish I never stayed here and NEVER WILL

Currently staying here we just moved down here a few months ago stayed here for a week. Then We left and stayed at a few other places. Some were nice but not a single one of them compares to the grand in both to quality of the room and the way the staff treats the customers. In our opinion Charleston Grand is by far the best place to stay! The staff is amazing, they are super nice and accommodating. The rooms are clean and updated, there are no roaches, and it's pretty quiet won't go to any other motel again we absolutely love it here!!! You guys are awesome!!!! Management here is by far beyond anything at any of the other motels we stayed at myles is great!! Highly Highly recommend.

Watch your credit cards!!! I booked for one night through Priceline. The hotel charged my card for a second night without my consent because a homeless person told them I said it would be ok. I had to get Visa to reverse the charge because the hotel refused.

I’m giving this place 4 stars because of location, affordability and customer service. Manager Miles went above and beyond to accommodate my needs for my mother and I’d definitely book her again for the hospitality.

Wretched. Even though the sign says all rooms have been newly renovated, that is CLEARLY not the case. I am fine staying in a so-so hotel but this place also allows a convoy of RVs to party out back and when they're done partying, the generators go on all night. The bed was horrible. The young man with red hair was great at check in but when i left for the day today, they tried to charge me $25 because they assumed I was leaving past check out time when I actually have another night. I said hi to the room attendant in the hall and she literally just stared at me. I'm not even going back for the extra night i paid for. Not worth it. Overall, even knowing that it's a cheap place and having a very low bar set, it's awful haha

Cons: The staff was extremely rude and fully unhelpful. There was a line of people that had to wait over 2 hours after arriving to have a room cleaned and available. There was no breakfast as advertised. Our room didn’t have a tv remote and when we asked the boy at the front desk for one he just stared at us blankly so we had to go into a different room and find one ourselves. The halls were hot, dirty, and stinky.Pros: the bed was super comfortable and the room was clean
booked this hotel because the hotels in the historic district were to expensive. Pulling up i can't see i was in such a nasty rundown area.. couldn't even leave our bikes on the back of the car even though they were locked up.this made up take several trips up and down to our room to get things in. Outside of that the room was a descent room with a comfortable bed and the staff was extremely friendly.unfortunately because of the area I wouldn't be back

This place was awful will never tell anyone about this hotel!!!The room was leaking water all in the floor and under the couch it looked like it hadn't been cleaned scene the covid has been out!!! Just awful!!

Definitely one of the better hotels in North Charleston.Their prices are pretty reasonable as long as you book in advance. They have also got a pretty decent pool, unfortunately there aren't any outlets near it.

While this hotel isn't "Grand," by any means it will give you a place to sleep with a soft bed and clean sheets at the end of the night. I would like to share that my husband and I typically stay at hotels downtown , however summer months make that impossible - rates between $400-$600 a night ! We paid $100 for this hotel and a $12 Uber to enjoy the downtown scenery - unless you leave during peak hours , you're looking at $40! We first came to the hotel - while the hotel staff wasn't personable, they got the job done. We booked via a 3rd party with a double bed and they upgraded to a king without charge . The first room we walked into had still not been cleaned - bed unmade etc. We went back downstairs , they rectified the situation immediately. Our room was nothing spectacular- appeared clean , but very old furniture that is falling off the hinges and discolored. Just for my own peace of mind I didn't walk on the floor on my bare feet , because the floor is very worn as well. I know revamping can't happen over night and is not cheap - but that is what needs to be done and the hotel would receive much better ratings.
