Tried the Greek Gyro Bowl with Lamb, Chickpea Salad, and stuffed Grape Leaves. Everything was delicious!
No real appeal inside, but the food was so fresh and delicious.
10 out 10 don’t recommend. The onions on my gyro were mostly brown & it had an odd bitter taste. The full size Greek salad is a joke it’s $8 for what is considered a side salad at best & no dressing. No lids for containers, no napkins overall terrible experience. Personally I’ll never be back.
Really tasty food. I came with a coworker for lunch yesterday. The food was fresh and the staff was helpful answering our questions. I had classic sandwich with the ginger hummus on the side. Definitely recommend this spot!
The atmosphere was cool, very nice vibe. The food was good and the service was friendly. Only issue was that their system doesn't show customer info on the tickets for online orders. That meant they couldn't call to tell me they were out of a menu item (lamb), so we got a substitute we wouldn't have chosen. The staff handled it well and was very apologetic, but they need to address that issue with their ordering system. I will absolutely go again, but will call to verify my order.
1/13/22 - Found Peno on Google (good reviews) while in North Charleston area and like Mediterranean food so decided to try it. Here are the good things: (1) pita bread was nice and light and (2) service was excellent. Please understand - it is not great Mediterranean food unless you have the meats (chicken, beef, and lamb) roasting on spits. Here are some suggestions: (1) you need a chicken shawarma platter, (2) I could not tell the difference between the beef and lamb, and (3) the Greek salad needed fresher ingredients, especially the olives. It was okay - but not a place I'd go back.
I really enjoy the food here but they are open inconsistent hours. On a weekday at 3pm they were not open. Just stopped in at 630pm and there employees inside, but the door is locked.Do better at communicating store hours. At least put a sign on the door.
Penos is a gem. Flavorful, healthy options, clean, friendly and do I say real food that is reasonable priced? So good i will be back again and again! I had the gyro bowl with real meat. The bowl was filled with a variety of lettuce , yogurt and crumbled feta. So good!
2nd time trying unfortunately I believe the price is a bit high for what I consider less than mediocre quality food. That is just my personal opinion. I gave it a try but don't see myself going back. I have been to much better Mediterranean spots.
Great place to get a shawarma people are real friendly I love it (PS ... Don't go there I don't want to get too crowded)

Really disappointed when I ate here. I asked for a side of sauce and when we got our food it wasn’t there so I asked the woman for it and she said oh okay. And then she didn’t come back so I went to the counter and asked for some sauce and she said it costed 84 cents. So I had to wait in line again to order an 84 cent sauce that I’d already asked for when I ordered originally. Now my rice is cold. There also weren’t any forks - we had to wait for those too. And the ladies were not friendly. Bummed.
The workers were very friendly, the lobby was also very clean. The portions were large. Because it is in a larger shopping area the parking is plentiful. The food was very good for a chain. The only strange part was that the meat in my gyro was almost cubed shaped, so some of it would easily come out as I ate.
Excellent authentic Greek food. The servers are sweet, efficient, and helpful. Eat in or take out. For me it’s both because I can’t finish this great big gyro! You gotta try it
Was ready when we got there and was outstanding. We love Mediterranean fare.
It was a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting good food.
