Ruby’s New York Style Bagels

The bagels are fantastic, the customer service, not so much. I ordered 9 bagels and two containers of veggie cream cheese online for pickup. I arrived to pick up my order and the bag was stapled shut so confirmed the cream cheese was in there with the cashier and she insisted it was. Got home to my hungry guests, opened the bag and there was no cream cheese. At $17 for two containers, I immediately called and was told by the woman on the phone that she put my order together and was the one who gave it to me and insisted there was one container of cream cheese on top. I told her I was staring right at, as were my guests, and there was no cream cheese with my order. Not to mention she said there was one container, she saw it herself, even though I ordered two. She said she can refund me for one and I said I wanted to be refunded for both since I didn’t receive any and she hung up on me. Hoping we had just gotten disconnected somehow I called back, no answer, called back again, no answer. So my husband called from his phone and someone answered. They told him the cream cheese (again one, not two) was in the bag and they already refunded me for one. My husband assured them we did not receive any cream cheese and why would we call and lie about it?? They said they can’t do another refund on the same transaction but if we come in they’ll give us two containers of cream cheese. I believe the employee saw cream cheese in a bag, I’m not accusing her of lying like they did to us, but I don’t think it was my order she saw it in. So eventually we went back to the store, spoke to a manager who didn’t seem to care, didn’t apologize for the mixup and now we have two containers of cream cheese but it’s too late because everyone was hungry and ate their bagels before we got back. I don’t appreciate being accused of lying and trying to refund me for only half of what I was missing. Not at these prices.

Their bagels are amazing!!!! The strawberry cream cheese smells, looks and taste like a desert itself! Great customer service, everything amazing!

Look to spend your money else where. Bagels are ok. Seemed like we did in fact get some New York treatment . The manager and female helper don’t have any soft skills . We asked for ice water and were directed to the back where they had a filtered water machine but no ice and no lids . No one says good morning or even thank you when you tip them? Something is definitely off , we witnessed the same treatment with an Asian lady that was dining in. The customer service is so awfull. Or maybe that was just the norm to people of color based on the previous reviews.

Ruby's bagels is close to home for me so I have been here multiple times already! Every time I've gone it has been great food, nice and friendly staff and fast service! I've tried their bagel sandwiches, ordering their six count or dozen count of bagels in a variety of flavors and their muffins and lattes! They have a lot of variety of bagel flavors and latte flavors! Ruby's bagels also keep very well in the fridge and freezer. I defrost one in the morning for breakfast sometimes and toast it. It comes out perfect every time like I just bought it! My favorite flavors are the habanero bacon and the asiago tomato! I'm a savory bagel girl, but they also have plenty of sweet options for people who like those! Thank you for opening your bagel Café in North Charleston.

when i walked in the barista and cashier just glanced at me and went back to their conversation. i had to greet the cashier, to which she did not respond. she had no problem greeting the other customers behind me though. i was looking for a new go to breakfast place so this experience was very disappointing.

Bagels and toppings are great. Somewhat inconsistent, but solid.

Service however, terrible. Just because the bagels are “New York style”, doesn’t mean the service has to be too. So rude, curt, short. Not a single “how are you” or “thank you”.

Regardless, great place to get bagels. My favorite in CHS, but management needs to encourage an attitude change for the employees at this location.

Delicious bagels!! Loved the variety. We had the Rico on a garlic bagel and a ham & cheese on a cheddar bacon habanero bagel…order came out fast, fresh and we left very pleased. Staff was nice and patient for being our firsr time to lool at the menu. Also asked for a Creme Brulee Latte extra hot and it came exactly like that. Was not super sweet but also didn’t need to add sugar. Definitely deserved a review. Great coffee and food!

Ruby’s is a well operated machine - - tables and chairs are always clean and their staff has been consistently friendly, they offer fast service, and amazing bagels. The one pictured is their cheddar bagel, which was amazing, btw!

Ruby’s Bagels is a gem. They’re fast, super accommodating, and their customer service is top-notch. Every order has been smooth and easy, and the team is always friendly and helpful. On top of that, the food is excellent our whole office raves about it. I’d absolutely recommend them without hesitation. Hands down one of the best local spots for quality and service.
