Willie Jewell‘s BarBQ on University Boulevard is our go-to place for barbecue! We love dining in or getting carry-out. All the meats are excellent AND the sides are flavorful and quite varied, including daily special sides. The portions are generous and one of my favorite things about dining in is that all the sauces are WARM and available in a large pump dispenser. The meat is tender without being dry. It's a great place to enjoy good old southern BBQ in the Ladson area. The staff is patient and attentive, making it kid-friendly as well. They offer generous portions, although some wish for bigger portions, and a military discount. Willie Jewells is top-notch BBQ, with mouth-watering brisket, great smoked turkey, chicken, and pulled pork. The fries, baked beans, and potato salad are all tasty. The mac n cheese was fantastic; creamy, smooth and cheesy. The wings had the perfect crispiness to them. They are a community-oriented restaurant. The cook made vittles so good.
