I guess the last couple of reviews tell the story. We stopped by on Aug 25 for dinner and there was a sign on the door "Closed for the Season." Perhaps a victim of the labor shortage?
This place is terrible. 7 of us arrived and seated at a little after 7pm. Waitress Brianna took drink orders and returned fairly quickly with them. At this time it was about 7:15. She took our orders. We sat for 45 minutes waiting before she returned and said one ordered item wasn't available. This person reordered. Well we waited another 45 minutes so 1.5 hours before food arrives and one entree was missing. We were very hungry after a day of travel as it was. No one came to say order was delayed. Food when it arrived was terrible...Cold, unappealing appearance, didn't taste fresh, mushy french fries. Very disappointed. We had checks split to 5 and 2. Our check for 5 arrived and it was over $200 for junk. I reviewed bill and said it was not right. There were 2 dinners on there that we never ordered. She corrected but only took 1 off, had to ask again. Finally actual bill was $144. This wasn't worth half of that! Dirty appearance in there too! Poor lighting to cover filth. I normally don't leave bad reviews but justified.
Clueless waitress to start with. I asked if oysters were fresh shucked in house and was told yes. First clue they may be " food service was they came swimming under water with cubes of ice on "top" instead of them resting on a bed of crushed ice to preserve the flavor and natural juices. Came without silverware. Food thereafter took nearly an hour but to be fair entrees were all good, especially the blackened fishbites. I guess you shouldnt expect more for happy hour oysters these days...
It was meh. We’ve gone here every year for about 10 yrs. I feel like the food used to be better. But it’s the only thing like it in the area. Not bad but just ok to us.
Just had one of the best experiences at a restaurant in awhile. Let me just start off by saying joules has got to have the best service on the beach. Other than the service the food was cooked to perfection and everyone had a smile! 10/10 recommend
BEST SEAFOOD AT THE BEACH! My brother, girlfriend and I all sat at the bar after walking right in and talking to the hostess. The bartender Zachary gave us some of the best service we’ve ever received at any restaurant. He made amazing Royal Flush shots and all our other drinks were very tasteful as well. If you come definitely try the Low country boil to eat and any of the rum punches to drink which can come a very neat way called a fishbowl. We will be back very soon!
With my family from Charlotte and stopped in for lunch after a few hours of beach time. When we got in there was only one other table. The waitress was very friendly but EXTREMELY over worked as she was the only waitress. There were 3 adults and 3 kids in our party. She was helpful in our questions, and even suggested we order the adult chicken dinner for the kids to share. As we were there they got busier and she was doing her best. The bartender was not busy and did nothing to offer any help to the waitress. She could have used a hand for sure. We waited an extra long time for food and when it came the chicken was so over cooked, dark brown , and honestly we were not able to eat it, much less the kids eat it. FF served with it were not crispy at all and Luke warm at most. I got the shrimp tacos, requested fried instead of blackened, that’s were right tasty…2 large, stuffed with shrimp! The red potatoes were very undercooked (boiled)- the fish tacos were only ok. The seafood platter was a lot of food, and again only ok , oysters were really under fried, flounder fishy. I will say the hush puppies were great! Again, many many kudos to the waitress, she was doing her best! Unfortunately, we will not be back to eat there. If not for the waitress I would have given it 2 stars
Horrible experience. This place had been recommended to me so thought I'd give it a try. Wait wasn't bad, 30 minutes or so. The worst part was the service and the the wait for the food. It took approx 45 minutes to bring the food out after we ordered. We may have seen our waitress three times all night. Drink refills were never checked or brought. Further more, some things that were supposed to come with the order we did not get and when we ask for it our waitress seemed to get an attitude about it. Food was OK, I'd say middle of the road. I will never go back after this experience.
Stay away! I really want to like this place. In the past it was good. One of my favorite places to go while in town, but it's just disgusting now. The place was dirty. Napkins on the floor. Food on the floor. The men's bathroom had no soap, the person who had been in the bathroom before my son and I found there was no toilet paper, as evidenced by the paper towels in the toilet. The shrimp I had were gross and almost disintegrating. The hush puppies were not cooked all the way through. All in all everything was not pleasant. The best thing at the table was my younger son's burger. This is supposed to be a seafood place.
I always loved duffy's because they were consistent. But this time was different unfortunately. I always get the fish tacos, they have a bold flavor and the tortillas would be grilled. But this time the tortillas were right out of the bag and the flavor not near as good. Our service was good but the food not so much. I always looked forward to coming here. Duffy's was a disappointment this time. Maybe new management? I don't know

I ordered the low country boil the boil would have been great if the shrimp were hot and fresh. It seemed as though they mixed old shrimp with the fresh, my husband ordered the seafood combo which was good as well as the crab dip. The service was great and the parking could have been a little more accessible.
Food was fresh and hot drinks were cold. Service was good. I had fried oysters medium-large size plump, some of the best I've had at a restaurant in a while.
We ate at a table outside. Service was ok, but our table was pretty disgusting. The food was good, but nothing too special. I was expecting a better experience, but I would give them another try.
Sadly, I have to leave a low rating - not a bad one just low. I had high hopes for this place. The facility portrays a “Back Ally Ghetto” feel. Our waitress was mediocre but pleasant. The food - Steam pot- was a disaster at best. Corn was over cooked to the point of mush, corn bread was tasty but very dry. Potatoes were undercooked and had no flavor while the shrimp was over seasoned and over cooked; to the point of not being able to peel it because it was falling apart. Oysters were fine but the clam over steamed.Wife ordered grilled flounder which was delicious and well cooked; but her corn was over cooked. Not worth the $6o we paid. The restaurant has potential it just needs to strive for it.
Had a decent meal. The oysters on the 1/2 shell were excellent. I had the steam pot the first time and it was exceptionally good except the corn was a little overcooked. The second time I had the seafood combo platter. The old bay fries were a little undercooked but overall very good.
