I don’t love bourbon but the espresso martini was out of this world, jalepano blueberry mimosa was addictive, and the sweet potato hummus with pickled veggies was SO good!! While we didn’t taste the truffle necessarily my friend and I would happily get the truffle parm fries again and again

We just had our rehearsal dinner here and couldn’t be more happy with how it turned out. Peta and her team absolutely crushed it with the layout, food options, drinks and overall ambiance. Our guests raved about the food options and the desserts were absolutely incredible. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!

The dank nugs are dank. 😋 the portion is large too plenty to share.
The shrimp and grits are so satisfying.
Interesting specials and the crab cakes.
Our large group enjoyed this southern fusion brunch

Rude hostess wouldn’t sit us for brunch because our children were still playing on the playground. We have never had an issue with going ahead and getting seated while our kids play on the playground. We knew their order and could have placed it if needed. The hostess should find a different career.

Gave Local a shot instead of the usual 3 places we normally hit up, and am certainly glad we did. Service was prompt, food was fantastic, no complaints really (live music was a bit loud but so what). Visit Pawleys couple times a year and will definitely be back.

Worst meal i ever had crazy expensive
While I totally understand their policy of not sitting large parties until all are there, it was a bit much when they wouldn't seat the rest of us at the table, that was all set up for us, when you could literally see my son and his 2 children through the front door at the playground.
Apart from that there are many good things to say. Emily our server was wonderful. We very much enjoyed trying a few beers during happy hour. I really enjoyed the Java the Nut brown Ale from New South.
They also seem very focused on truly offering truly gluten free items, even being careful about cross contamination by using separate fryers and such. The house made chips with Old Bay were great and we always love the Dank Nugs.
Once we got to the table we had a great experience. Hope they think through that policy a bit more and work on the front of house smiles more as well.

Well, THIS was a great time...
OH WAIT NO IT WASN'T.
Stopped in here a week BEFORE to vet the place before eating here, talked to someone, who, was presumably THE OWNER, and she ended up talking to me for about AN HOUR before I left.
Thought I learned how the place operated.
Stopped in here the following week (sometime between early-to-mid June of 2022) at about 8:00pm (7:54pm, to be exact), and they told me the kitchen was CLOSED, despite the fact that the place didn't actually close until 9pm.
There were still plenty of people still there, eating their meals and having drinks, so I don't know why they wanted to close ahead of time; I guess their kitchen staff hate(s) their job(s) and want to go home as soon as they can. IDK.
No apology, no nothing; I was essentially told to go pound sand.
Ended up going to South End Bistro (At the end of the Pawley's Island strip along 17).
Good job, guys. Good job. Thanks for deferring business intended for you to one of your competitors, instead. Good job.
EDIT: Oh look, I got a response from them; so argumentative, absolutely not apologetic at all. NO, IT DOES NOT STATE that their kitchen closes at 8pm on ANY of their signs AT the restaurant, and I SHOULDN'T have to check their social media to figure that out, information like that SHOULD BE on their OFFICIAL WEBSITE. If this's how they talk to ME, I don't think you should want to patronize their establishment, either. Bad management is such A WASTE of an otherwise nice place.
Why can't you get YOUR act together, LOCAL?
The food, cocktails and service absolutely cannot be beat. We never miss the chance to stop in when we're in town. Brunch at Local never disappoints!

We are torn! We searched for the best kept secret restaurant in Pawleys and this popped up! It was 100% THE BEST! However, if we tell everyone , it will get too crowded!! So, it really was just OK. The bacon corn risotto and crab cakes were not amazing and don't even bother with the dessert. 😂

I had to apologize to the owner, my wife and I have been coming to the hammock shop shopping area here for a couple of years now. This is the first time we came in to have dinner. I told the owner I was sorry that I didn’t come in here two years ago! The food was fantastic and very reasonable! I think we just found our new favorite place down here at Pawleys Island.

Some amazing food! The drinks were great as well. Had such a good time and it's all tucked away in the most unique and lovely little outdoor shopping village. Just so damn cute.
