Food was good and plenty on the plate
had the burger duo, the fish sandwich duo and green beans and dirty rice. Awesome! family loved it all! Jennifer made sure to tell me my family would love it! we did!

What a great place staff is really friendly everything is homemade. I got gumbo it was amazing. Pimento cheese fries were great first time I ever had something like that. I would love to go back but we just stopped on our way while traveling. But seriously if you are in the area try it out.

I grew up in Charleston..
Been here my whole life and have eaten at every soul food restaurant in the Charleston area. Let me say this loud so all y'all can hear me. Genesis is the best around. The fried pork chops are probably the best food I've ever tasted. The beautiful young lady I talked to while waiting on my food was so pleasant that I could've spent all afternoon getting to know her. The atmosphere is perfect. I'm actually thinking about ordering more food before I go back to Charleston. This place is a must go if you like quality food that bursts with flavor.

Any of my complaints won't subtract from the 5 stars they earned today! I would suggest a better beer selection..... And that's it.. Well, the dining room was a little warm but the whole building was having HVAC work done. Not their fault. PS they cater too!

The St. John’s class of 1984 visited on June 30,2024 after visiting Bethel AME in Ravenel and this place did not disappoint. The food was absolutely scrumptious. The staff was very friendly. I ordered fish and shrimp with corn and corn bread. Everything was tasty and seasoned to perfection. I will most definitely visit again. Keep up the good work.
