Found this restaurant on my way back from Charlotte to Charleston. It was amazing. You don't find many restaurants like this anymore. Its 2.5 hours away from me and im trying to plan a trip so I can stop back in. One of my favorite restaurants now. Reminds me of family dinner at grandma's when I was younger.
Delicious! If you miss Gran's home cooking, with biscuits from scratch, fried fish, homemade sides, mashed and gravy, roasted chicken etc etc....then the Front Porch is for you. Honest and delicious food, handmade flaky pastry....yummmmmeeeeeeeee.\nAnd - very modest prices, a.good-natured and down-home staff, in a comfortable pleasant setting. WHO needs fast food when you can have GOOD food?
Hotel clerk recommended this. As it was literally across the street we decided to walk there. He did not steer us wrong. This is a restaurant that is just plain good. The service was amazing. Everyone who walked by checked on us. We each had the daily special of chicken and dumplings with two sides. I picked the beets and green beans; husband had beets and fried green tomatoes.
