I took my daughter to the cafe for her 4th birthday and we both loved it. The tea, sandwiches, and pastries were delicious and the atmosphere was pleasant.

We were there yesterday. It was delightful! The ambiance, the whimsy, the chocolate cake & blueberry scone were delicious. Picking which teacup & saucer to use was the most difficult part of my visit. I will definitely be coming back! Thank you, Craig, for all you did for us.

New Update (still a fan after almost a decade): I was worried when Carol passed away that things wouldn't be as enjoyable, but lunch and high tea are just as lovely as ever. Carol had a good thing going, and her son in law who is now at the helm understands what made it so special. One of my favorite places in the midlands.

Updated to add: 6 years later and still my favorite tea and deli!

A sweet gem in downtown Ridgeway! Delicious food, impeccable tea knowledge, fabulous stacf, historic location, who could ask for more? High tea is an unforgettable experience and lunch downstairs is equally delightful, just less formal. I have always enjoyed everything I have had here even though I am a picky eater!

This place is an absolute jewel to Ridgeway and SC. The food is delicious and the service is phenomenal. I come here almost weekly and feel like family as soon as I step through the front door. I always laugh at the entitlement of people with the negative reviews on here. This is not a place where you go for a fast food type of experience. You come here to enjoy friendship and taking a moment out of life to enjoy it. I've been to high tea in the UK and I am used to 2-2.5 hours for the experience. That's what makes it unique. And there are rules and standards here so it can be an enjoyable experience for all. If you don't like it, then go somewhere else. I love the owner Craig, and I adored Carol as well. Some of the finest people who are down to earth and really care about people and providing top notch service. I just hate when Entitled brats try to bring down a beautiful establishment. If you are one of those people, do us all a favor and stay home so you don't ruin my tea time when I come to visit. ❤️

What a fun and unique experience and just 30 minutes from Columbia! We had an afternoon tea for my mom’s birthday and it was a fabulous time! We loved trying new teas and all of the delightful finger foods. I’ve had the privilege to have afternoon tea in London and when you come here, you are getting the real deal, clotted cream, sugar cubes and all! We all wore fascinators which was fun but if you don’t have a hat you can borrow one from them too!

A lovely, historical, eclectic treasure. Delicious, filling food & a huge variety of different teas, both hot & cold. An option of High Tea ( worth every penny). I was very impressed & will return whenever I am in the town of Ridgeway.

They have hats you can borrow, and you then pick your tea cup. Then they start to serve you. The tea and the food is amazing and the whole experience is very unique and fun. I look forward to doing it again.

Just such a cute, fun cafe downstairs with a formal tea room upstairs. Historic general store in beautiful downtown Ridgeway. Well worth the trip even if it’s just for lunch.

Parking: We parked on the street in front of the cafe. There may be other parking options but we didn’t look.

Hands down the best tea room in the country! So much attention to details! The shop downstairs is absolutely adorable and filled with wonderful goodies. You get to pick which beautiful tea cup you want to use for high tea, lovely printed menu describing each course and what's being served that month, they warm the tea cup before your first pot of tea, you get to try 3 different teas (one hot tea of the day, one iced tea of the day, and then one hot tea selected by your table), the food is generously portioned so you aren't leaving hungry as everything is delicious and not to mention you get a piece of cake on the top of the tray which is already filled with several yummy options. The balance between savory and sweet options is great and it's so nice having a soup course after the scone course. I love going during the different holidays as they have wonderful theming to each tray. My family and I have gone to a couple dozen tea rooms around the country and always see if they compare to Laura's as they are our gold standard!
