Got here and ordered tacos and a few other items. The chicken was fine. The tacos were awful. Took one bite and sent it back. The kitchen said that they took a bite of it and that its tastes good to them. First off that is gross. Second is how can you tell me what is good and what isn't? The waiter was none existent the entire time.. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this location. I have never been treated this way in a a establishment. Nobody is trying to get free food. They just want to get what they pay for.

Always such a treat to eat here. The staff are so friendly and helpful!

Very slow service. Ended up getting up and finding someone for drink refills.

When the food came out several items were missing, such as soft tacos for the fajita platter.

The only positive is they are open later than a lot of the other restaurants around, so if you are looking for a place to go at 9:30pm they are not within 30 minutes of closing.

They are able to prepare the food gluten free. And staff is knowledgeable about what is gluten free and what is not

My first time Jessie my server was very nice and conversated with me and gave great recommendations for drinks and food. Prices are reasonable and the food is great.

Edit: We decided to give them another chance and had a much better experience this time. I guess the experience prior was a fluke, or a mistake by the server. This is a good Mexican spot in the rock hill/Newport area, and would recommend if it’s close by to you! The service has improved greatly since our negative experience, and we appreciate that! The price of our last bill was also on par with what we usually expect, which is reasonable. Thanks for the improvements!

We used to love coming here. It’s not our favorite Mexican restaurant but it’s the closest to us. Unfortunately, we believe they’ve raised the prices along with now charging for refills, without warning or notice.
Our usual total is around $50-$60, but last time we went it was around $80.
I can understand raising prices slightly to accommodate for inflation, however it was the charging for refills that really rubbed me the wrong way. Nobody else does this. It is such a minuscule cost for the establishment to eat rather than charging more than $2.50 for each cup of beverage you have.
We didn’t have a ton of refills, just our 1 drink and then 1 refill, so 2 cups total each.
Unfortunately, we will not be back. :(

*Editing to clarify that we were charged for refills for soda and tea. I got a sprite and my husband got a sweet tea, we don’t drink alcohol or order specialty drinks. Maybe this was a mistake by the server?

We generally enjoy Newport Charandas; however the last 2 times we've ordered pickup (through their site) have been disappointing. Last order, I added a side of salsa because they never provide more than 2oz salsa despite us ordering 3 entrees. My salsa was left out of the bag. I let it go because I should have checked the bag in the store.

Tonight, I added a side of spicy guacamole to my order. What I received was definitely a premade guac equivalent to what I was purchase in Walmart. It was the consistency of baby food and not spicy. I fully understand food prices are rising and that I should expect to pay more. However, it is not ok to charge me more while also providing disgusting food. We'll be making the further drive for better food next time.

Absolutely love coming here weekly! The food, the atmosphere and the overall love from everyone is a treasure here! Drinks, food and entertainment will continue to have us coming back weekly. Special shout out to Nate, the Assistant Manager, who always makes us feel welcomed with his warm hugs!

My family loves everyone at Charanda's from the sweet hostess, waiter and waitresses, all the way to the bartenders and the GM. Nate is super friendly and he always gives us hugs when we come in. It's truly a family here. I said the bar is the modern day Cheers!! #iykyk Highly recommend the street tacos on Tuesdays!! Order soft tortilla with Pico and queso. Tell them Will and Kim sent you!

Horrible experience, our server did not provide chip refills or drink refills. The server was very cold and not welcoming at all. Also food was cold. Nothing special I would not recommend going here, to top it all off unsanitary bathrooms.
