We are from out of town and planned our entire evening based on eating at this establishment. We pulled up to see that it was completely closed. We had checked the website numerous times prior, and it said nothing about being closed this Saturday. The website needs to be updated. Very aggravated

UPDATE: 10/10/2020: Sign in the window says "CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE" Stopped by during dinner hours today (Saturday) to find the place dark and that sign in the window. ?I had the "boonie bird" - chicken topped with crab cake and smothered with mozzarella. The bay sauce was awesome, and the fried okra was crisp and crunchy. If you're in the neighborhood, don't let its drab interior fool you. The place is awesome.

Boondocks has closed as of October 2020. No date for reopening has been announced at this time. Hoping someone can reopen in this spot as it’s one of the closest restaurants to Hunting &’Fripp Islands.

My husband and I always enjoy their no frills atmosphere. Never had a bad meal there.Husband had the prime rib special and I had the seafood platter. Very generous portions.The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the oysters were over cooked. Everything else was very good.Wait staff was very friendly.

It never ceases to amaze me number of the businesses that allow uninformed and unqualified employees answer the phone. Is there a bigger turnoff than "I don't know"? Please don't answer the phone , if you can't answer basic questions. Don't scream to other uniformed employees for answers you should know. Owners, when you go out of business, think about the customers than were run off by your lack of training. When you advertise music on Sat night, don't fail to deliver. Table for 4 will be down the road

Disappointed. Service was poor, food cold, baked potatoes and hush puppies might have been cooked last week. Flounder was good. Crab cakes cold So long to a long time favorite.

We got two Philly cheese steaks to go. It was very tasty and plenty of food. The cole slaw wasn't that great, but wasn't terrible. And they didn't include mayo which I consider a essential part of a Philly, but that might just be me. But all in all it hit the spot.
We are a few nights into our vacation and we are so happy that we went to Boondocks for dinner! Amazing food and the kindest staff - they were so welcoming and we really felt at home talking with them. Would recommend that everyone go here - and make sure to get a Boonie Ball for dessert!

If your looking for a high end fancy dinner, this is not your place, BUT, if you want fantastic service and the most fun servers and bartender.... This is the best! We had so much fun and the food was good.

Local stop Pretty much stop couple times a week coming off charters.Have a drink or two. Sometimes busy and takes a while.

Walking in we knew it was a small cozy place that maybe seemed a little outdated but once we sat down we were treated like family. The waitress and hostess were extremely nice and it was nice to chat a bit about the area. The food was delicious and arrived quickly. While we may have been one of two tables, everyone there was attentive and made sure our experience was good. Would definitely recommend for good food and good atmosphere.
