This was our first stay with Clarks Inn, which came highly recommended from friends. When we checked in, weary after a day of traveling, the efficient but unwelcoming, borderline rude receptionist gave us a 2nd floor room. When I had made the reservation (well in advance) it specifically stated a downstairs king room. This was the best dinner out we’ve had in a long time. Have to be honest … we don’t know which was better, the food or the service. Edgar was so on top of everything and helped to guide us to a wonderful meal. From the homemade corn chowder to the decadent desserts. We chose chicken dinners. One fried and one slow roasted. Room was very clean with a king size bed. Not like big box store hotels. Very quaint with pictures on the wall. We were in the pet friendly area and there was plenty of room to walk the dogs with cleanup bags and a can to collect their waste. The room included a free sitdown breakfast, which was delicious. We both ordered the biscuits and gravy and portions were very large. We ate dinner there the night before and loved the meal.
