Hidden Gem!!! We arrived to an almost empty restaurant but it didn't disappoint. Our server (Denise) was super friendly and attentive. The food came quickly and was very tasty. I had the fried shrimp Po boy with fries and coleslaw. My fellow golf buddies had the fried pork chops and the seafood platter. We devoured it! Prices and portions were very good as well. Don't sleep on this little spot!

The Santee Seafood Bistro is great food and warm people, seasoned with love! What an amazing spot. Arriving just after dusk, a beautiful warm glow on pull-up was very inviting. My long-awaited first dive into shrimp and grits had to be the right spot, right time. Also, I wanted it to be in South Carolina to create that memory, in a lovely and loving place. Well, the shrimp and grits happened here (first-timer), and I may have just had the best bite on the planet! Unbelievably so good, maybe with a little Louisiana influence. Shrimp amazing, brown gravy with a hint of heat and topped with a fried green tomato. Just amazing! Hush puppies were incredible and a nice drink selection. Ruby and crew made our night! Such wonderful food and lovely people.

The food here left a lot to be desired. I gave 2 stars bc the hush puppies are fire, but the flounder, crab cakes, and fish and chips (cod) were not. Maybe I came on the wrong night, but this wasn't it. Our waitress meant well and was an absolute sweetheart, and the place had a nice little vibe, but the food just wasn't on point.

This is a quaint little place for a very small town. While traveling through the town, my family and I stopped for Sunday dinner. On appearance we were very apprehensive but decided to patronize the restaurant anyway. It gives old Mayberry diner vibes and definitely NEEDS updating! The floor was sticky to walk upon as if someone spilled a gallon of sweet tea and left it to just dry. The food was NOT seasoned or appealing at all; just average for the price. The crab cakes should NOT be offered as they are just some sort of mushy stuffing with ABSOLUTELY NO CRAB to be found anywhere. However, our server was very accommodating and offered her best to make sure we were taken care of; she truly did her best. I can’t say I will patronize this establishment again but we did give it an honest try today. My ten year old granddaughter even stated that they needed a restaurant rescue akin to the popular TV series Bar Rescue.

Denise was a great server! I also met the owner's Dad during my visit. He was very friendly! He recognized the sorority shirt that I was wearing and told me that his daughter, the owner, was also a member of my sorority. That was a plus to support the business, but the main reason that I will return is because the food is great!
