The atmosphere is very comely. This place could definitely do more with setting up the tables better. Not to mention they only accept cash and their atm is very outdated. I know that this is one of the only restaurants out here in the middle of nowhere, but get with the times people. Not to mention their food is mediocre at BEST. It didn't even smell good.Furthermore, we had to wait a few minutes for the cashier to even notice us since he was busy talking to someone.
Don't take debit cards...I went back to buffet for 2nd helping and my table was cleared when I returned....I actually covered my tea with a napkin in hopes they would no I was coming back....food was ok...liver hash seemed to be weak??? Not the taste of liver I was looking for....not quite what I expected...but will give another visit to see

My husband went to this place last week and liked it so much we decided to go back so I could enjoy it too. Awesome history, atmosphere is very homey and comfortable. Great selection of comfort food. Lots of new and different local cuisine. Really something for everyone. Debra is an awesome, personable server.
Schoolhouse's pepper & vinegar-sauced pulled pork was awesome! I added extra sauce to it and hid the cracklins underneath (to sop up some of that great sauce). They also have a great slaw to go along with it. The rest of the buffet is great but I'm here for the BBQ.They are cash only, ($13 per adult) so come prepared, but if not there is an ATM onsite.The greatest strength at Schoolhouse (and don't forget the BBQ is awesome) is their wonderful staff. Hats off to each of them, especially to Lynn & Duke who made us feel like we were eating with family. I thoroughly enjoyed their hospitality which was shown with all humility. They are a blessing and we will look forward to seeing them and catching up with them on our next visit.
