That’s when we discovered Hoof & Barrel in York, South Carolina—a true hidden gem. I went all in with a mouthwatering slab of Angus beef, while my wife opted for the Cougar Classic burger. Both were absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection, and packed with flavor. But the experience didn’t stop at the food—Andrea, our server, went above and beyond, making us feel right at home with her outstanding service. If you’re anywhere near York, do yourself a favor and stop by Hoof & Barrel. Even if you’re not hungry, it’s worth the visit!”

“We have been going here for many years and often we order the same thing depending on time of day. This time I went for dinner and order the pecan crusted chicken sandwich which I have ordered several times before. When the food came the sandwich was cut in half. I noticed that half of the sandwich had a small cut of chicken. I thought that the chicken maybe had been cut off centered. But, as I looked at the other half of the sandwich the piece of chicken was the same small size. It literally looked like a chicken tender had been cut in half and placed on the toast. It was very disappointing. We asked the waitress about it and she took it back to the kitchen. In the end they brought us 2 more sandwiches the same way. This sandwich was not worth the money.”

“Wifey and I had dinner at Southern Touch last night - we both had BBQ plates. Was my 2nd time having their BBQ; I absolutely LOVE it! Tastes just the BBQ I loved in Georgia; ONLY BETTER! Thank you Southern Touch for the awesome food (still looking forward to trying the fried squash)! Their sweet BBQ sauce is awesome - give it a shot. “Daily specials that are excellent prices! Probably out the door with tax and TIP at $10 if you get just water... Ask for the spicy salsa too, and mix with regular, and it's a treat.
The place is somewhat small and usually packed, but they get you through quickly, food comes out quick and hot.

“We ate here this past Friday and we can't wait to go back! This is a very good restaurant, with great southern and seafood cooking. The bartender, I think his name was Sam was beyond exceptional! He filled us in on the vast menu and gave us a few recommendations that were on par! He made us feel like we were at home and was very attentive to our needs. Normally, when we go out to eat we have to tell our server/bartender what we need. With Sam, he was just on top of things and was on point! We will be back and back again. Thanks SoCo for coming to York County.”

“Towne Tavern - York is awesome! Never had a bad time there. The staff are always super nice and take care of me. Food is always on point. They have live music all the time and it is always fun as well. Don’t miss out of this place in York!”

“Cool little spot. We come at least once a year during the fall to hang out with a cider flight and some donuts. They have live music often and the staff have always been friendly when we come through. Parking can be a little tight when it’s busy but definitely worth a visit.”
