We arrived about 7pm and it was our 1st time at this location. Our food arrived in a timely manner, but none of it was to the usual Cracker Barrel standard. We ordered chicken and dumplings, a burger, and chicken fingers. It all tasted bland and old. The worst of it were some of the sides... The mashed potatoes were cold and one solid clump, and the mac and cheese had something black all over it, so nobody would touch it. The server was great, and the atmosphere was nice. All...

Hate to be negative, but the breakfast was not what it should have been. The grits were very runny, you could drink them and the piece of city ham that was on the plate had fat on it and looked like it was trimmings. The bacon was overcooked to black. Maybe they were just having a bad day in the kitchen and we don't normally complain, but my husband and I said it was quite unacceptable. The scramble eggs were very good.

Although normally a great experience, in this instance, the service was slow and we had to ask seven times for the air-conditioning to be turned down as it was like an icebox in the dining area. They finally lowered it for a few minutes.
