We were happy to find that several of their dishes are available in half portions, which is great if you want to have a starter or cup of soup. This is a very unique location, the decor and ambiance is what I would expect from an Austrian restaurant. There is lots of sausage and various wild game to try with excellent quality and quantity. Definitely a fun and different restaurant to try.

We had some friends visiting from Tennessee. Had a 5:00 reservation for 10 people. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. After being there an hour we asked our server if we needed to clear out to free up the table. He said we were good. At 7:30 the manager finally told us that they had done what they could but finally needed our table. They went above and beyond to let us keep that table as long as they did. We can't thank Gerhard's enough...

Gerhard’s Café is an absolute gem. We’ve been travelling across America and this is hands-down the freshest, most delicious food we’ve had. The tomatoes alone were unforgettable. I can personally vouch for the Beef Stroganoff, rich, tender, and perfectly balanced.
Our server Kade was outstanding, warm, knowledgeable, and clearly in love with the history of the restaurant. You can feel the pride in the way she looks after guests.
If you’re anywhere near Spartanburg, book a table. Gerhard’s is the kind of place you immediately want to come back to.

Lauren was our server and she did a good job and checked on us to make sure beverages stayed topped of. I ordered the peppercorn sirloin as it had good online review. It had a good flavor but I had forgotten how touch sirloin can be since I have not had one in quite a while. It came with french fries which were flavorful. My wife ordered salmon and she indicated it was delicious. I really want to go back and try something else that may be more to my liking.
