First time there. They were quite busy. The food was typical sports pub food. The rice on was a little overdone, the onion rings were a little underdone, but the spicy grilled chicken & the fried chicken tenders were both done to perfection. I was actually quite happy with the breading on chicken tenders and the inside was juicy. The server was very friendly, and the manager made several rounds checking on guests and apologizing for the low staffing and slower service. Overall, it was a good experience. They were a little slow, but handled it appropriately with great customer service, and the food was decent. We'd go back!

On Saturday we planned to attend the Spartanburg BBQ Hog Fest for dinner, but could not find any parking, so we decided to try Hickory Tavern. This was a great decision. We were with 2 friends and all agreed we enjoyed our meal and will be back. I had the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich and the house fried chips. The best PCS I have ever eaten was in Boston, but this one was even better!! Sooo good. My husband had the lemon pepper wings, which is one of their specialities. He is a snob about his wings and he said his were great. Our friends had the quesadillas and each of us cleaned our plates!! The waitress, Ryan, was very attentive, even though she was busy with several tables. The manager came by our table before we left and we extended our compliments. We will be back..

We had to wait an hour and a half for food and it never came out. We had to leave and go somewhere else. They have NO GLUTEN FREE options and the waiter didn’t even know what gluten was. They made up some excuse how they burnt the food when in reality they forgot about our food. About 50% of the other people in the restaurant got up and left as well because they didn’t get their food either. I would not recommend coming here EVER if you want to have a good experience.
By far the worst service ever! Our waitress was too busy to be outside dancing than to even put our order in or make sure we had drinks! We will never be back after a 3 hour wait and still no food!

Absolutely terrible wait time, we waited an hour and a half for food that we didn’t get to enjoy because we left before it came.Don’t go if you want to have a evening wasted by waiting for food!!We came March 16th, 2024 at 7:20pm.
It's above average bar food. The atmosphere was as good as it gets. Met some of the "locals" and appreciated the conversations.

My wife and I were there Saturday 03/02/2024. Waited the usual 35 mins for a table, another 10mins before anyone came to table(told lack of staff) ordered waited another 25 mins on food. I ordered shrimp and grits and my wife ordered a burger. Instead of burger the marinated chicken was brought to her. Waited another 15 minutes to get burger in mean time my shrimp and grits had gotten cold. We took all in stride and ate without complaining. When check came we were charged for all 3 meals. Brought this to their attention and they assured us it was corrected and we would not be over charged.. they were wrong, we were over charged. Was a favorite place before the plays we attend in Spartanburg but never again your thievery is not appreciated! A mistake was made on the bill, it happens , but when we were lied too and assured we would not be charged the mistake then it becomes willful thievery!
