Clean place. Had only five options for breakfast. The Name of the restaurant And the website says bar/cocktails, but they won’t serve you any for breakfast. Couldn’t even get a mimosa. Major False Advertising. We left

Some of these reviews surprise me. I have stayed here 10 times as I find it be one of the nicest hotels in Spartanburg. The inside is huge, airy, and beautiful. Gym is also huge and amazing. Pool is great. And rooms are large and everything is fairly new. Then comes the kicker...Oak 1831, which is the restaurant (and the epic lobby bar serves Oak 1831 food) is one of the best restaurants in town. Breakfast and Dinner are both mind-blowing. The chefs are always doing special menus and craft real cool entrees and bites with a South Carolina flair. I get as excited about eating here as staying here. Oak 1831 needs its own Yelp page really. The food pics alone are stunning. Anyway, no idea what happened to a few of these peeps but this spot is well worth a stay and at least a few meals !

We were the only customers in the entire restaurant. Because of this, service should have been excellent (you have no one else to wait on!). Unfortunately, the service was terrible. At the end of our meal, it took an entire hour to figure out our checks, that still ended up wrong. We were all charged for things we did not have, gratuity added AFTER the receipts and cards were taken. It was a complete mess.

Rarely do I like restaurants in a hotel but this place is excellent and consistent. I always eat at the bar where you’re guaranteed the best darn service by Melissa.

It's unfortunate that I can't recall the young lady's name who served us but we were there at 5pm on Jan. 20. She was an absolute delight - so helpful, kind and engaging. The appetizers were delicious. I am not a fan of beet color on the salmon. It simply did not add flavor. I would not order it again because it created a perception of “discoloration” that was off putting. My husband had the red fish. He liked it.

I would have given 5 stars but the first room we were in smelled like sewage. They switched up to another room and no hot water. They switched us to another room and still no hot water. Finally they switched us to the fourth room and we had hot water. We let them know the heat was not working correctly also so they called in the repairman for that and got that fixed. They did give us 3 complimentary breakfasts at the hotel restaurant. The restaurant was excellent. The front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful and apologized for our inconvenience. The hotel was very clean.

Oak was a great surprise. Found it by staying at the hotel and loved it. The Caprese salad is the best I’ve ever had. This is one of the best restaurants in town.

There were 4 of us and we tried 3 different menu items (2 got the same thing). Each dish we tried was amazing. My husband had the ribs and he said they were the best he had ever had which is a high compliment. I had the red fish which was fantastic and the sauce with it was so yummy. Most dishes have a cajun flare but we love spicy. Another had the salmon and he really enjoyed it too. The staff is very attentive. An overall great experience. Will definitely be back!

Great food! Hidden gem in Spartanburg. Because it's in a hotel, I think people overlook it. But this is really good food and a different spin on flavors. We had a great time for dinner.

This is the best restaurant in Spartanburg! Menu is great and servers are well trained! The modern decor could use a little enhancing! A fireplace or well-placed plants or table decor...

Fantastic breakfast! Try the grits!! I had the pleasure of enjoying a breakfast at this restaurant, and it was truly exceptional. The bacon was thick and perfectly cooked, and the stone-ground, creamy grits were a delightful addition. This breakfast ranks among the best I've had in a very long time.
