Halls Chophouse Nexton (Summerville)

One of these days I'll shell out and come for dinner. And when I do, I hope I'll rewrite this and give them 5 stars.

I've been twice now. Once with my wife for brunch and once with my boss for lunch. For brunch I got the chophouse omelet. It was fine. Nothing to write home about. It was largely pretty bland, undersalted, and the most noticeable taste was the sherry they soaked the mushrooms in. The grits side I ordered with it was fantastic, though.

When I went for lunch I got the steak sandwich. The positives were that it was pretty hefty, and the horseradish wasn't overpowering. Downside was it between the steak juices and the grease, it was a soggy mess. They should get some kind of bread that can hold up to the moisture better.

Of course none of this is what people really come to Hall's for, and I'm still absolutely open to coming for dinner and expect that when I do it'll live up to the hype.

The food and service was great don’t get me wrong but it’s bombastically overpriced.

Great food and atmosphere, Bring your wallet, cost for such great food and service.

We unfortunately had a pretty bad experience today. Our food took over an hour to get out to us, and wasn’t that good. The staff all handled it extremely well and took care of us. They made sure to treat us right. We were on the verge of being turned off by Halls, but the way they handled it made us life time Halls lovers.

Our two families went for an engagement party to celebrate the couple, and had a wonderful time. The staff and food were incredible

I took my husband here back in April for his birthday, and it was amazing! All the food was delicious; I enjoyed the dimly lit atmosphere. Went during live music night, and they gave him a celebratory glass of champagne, a little non-alcoholic drink for me since I was pregnant, and a little dessert for him. He loved it.

I wanted to take a moment to give a shout out to the 3 bartenders at Hall Nexton. I was on my way to the airport on I-26 when I was notified that my flight had been delayed. I pulled of at Somerville exit and went to Halls. It was a Friday night at around 6p and since I had no reservation I was seated at the bar. The 3 wait staff at the bar were Rocky, Jay and Biz. They are pros at what they do and extremely service oriented. When my salad was delayed in coming out they got the manager involved and provided dessert complimentary! Nice touch.
Highly recommend the staff for their outstanding customer service. Will definitely be back.

We had dinner upstairs in the Doghouse with Spencer. We had a delicious meal, as usual, with good conversation and perfect drinks with Spencer! Give it a try! You won’t be disappointed!

Celebrating our 9 year anniversary yesterday, we decided to go to Halls to celebrate. It was our first time going to experience Halls ChopHouse and we definitely won't forget it. I ordered the "King Street Favorite" drink and when the server was bringing it over he happened to spill it on my pricey purse, table, chair as he did apologize for it but there was no urgency to clean it off the purse. He just blotted it a couple of times with a polyester lap napkin (they don't absorb well) So I had to continue to clean when we were brought paper napkins. Now today I have to take it to the cleaners to completely clean it since it did get on the inside of my purse. The table linen had to be changed so we are holding everything in our hands and lap, instead of reseating us at the empty high top table next to us. Now having sticky hands from the overfilled, spilled glass. We ordered food, when the servers came to give us our sides there happened to be a hair on my husband's side plate. In the corn we both had been desiring. A manger did come over after the hair incident and she took 50% off of the side dishes and gave us a free dessert. As I know things happen in the food and beverage department, but for a place of high standards I definitely expected things to be handled different. On the plus side the steaks did taste amazing so that was nice touch to an eventful dinner. A story and experience that definitely won't be forgotten for our 9 year anniversary, not sure that we will be back to the nexton location.

I work for a hospice company and one of my patients last wishes was to have a steak. My company called Halls to order one for them and when they found out who it was for they refused payment and donated it. I can honestly say I was so happy to see that smile on my patients face when I dropped off the steak . Thank you for making someones last few moments special

We celebrated my birthday at Halls this year and they didn’t disappoint. The service and food was top notch and delicious. Our waitress Angelyn was adorable and took amazing care of us. She recommended some delicious items off the menu we absolutely loved. Joe the manager made our night special. He came over and made us feel welcomed and personally wished me a happy birthday. I highly recommend dining with Halls Chophouse if you haven’t already. This is what hospitality looks like! I can’t wait to come back. Thanks again Angelyn and Joe for making my birthday dinner special.

Wonderful !!!!! We had the 16 oz ribeye and split it cooked med rare and it was perfect! Had asparagus with holladaise delicious! It was birthday so I got the crème brulae.

I've only been to Halls Chophouse 4 times, but every time has been fantastic! The steaks are off the best quality and the service is always wonderful. Very personable staff that cater to your needs. Oh... have I mentioned the steak? Not only are they high quality, but they are cooked to perfection! You will NOT be disappointed by going to Halls at least once!
