Sanno Japanese Express is a great spot for lunch with consistently delicious food and a friendly, welcoming staff. I especially appreciate the owner, who is always polite and personable—you can tell they care about the customer experience.
While I love the food, I have to mention that prices have gone up quite a bit, likely due to inflation and rising costs. Unfortunately, the portion sizes seem to have decreased, which makes the higher prices feel more noticeable.
The only other downside is the traffic getting in and out of the location—it can be a bit of a headache, especially during peak hours. But honestly, the food and service make it worth the wait.
Definitely recommend if you’re looking for quality Japanese takeout with a local touch.

I have been a sanno fan for about 20 years!! I started eating here when it was the smaller place in goose creek. They have my favorite lumpia & hibachi!! I’m sad I live so far away but anytime I’m in Summerville or goose creek I stop in.

Discovered this nice little family restaurant today. Daughter got 3 rolls of sushi, I got the teriyaki beef, and we shared spring rolls. Everything tasted amazing. We also had great service, you get treated like you are old friends. We will definitely be coming here again with the entire family. I highly recommend this place.
