The stuffed shells were absolutely delicious. Typically go for the lobster ravioli but wanted to switch it up. The gluten free calamari was lacking in flavor some though. It was missing something but couldn't quite figure out what.

Dietary restrictions: They have an entire gluten free menu!

I read the reviews and menu online. My husband loves a good veal dinner.(not all good restaurants make veal) After a day of traveling we found The Red Pepper. We went on a slower day, Tuesday. It was a little hard to locate on the main road but glad we did. Once inside the hostess reminded us to watch our step and inside we went. The wait staff greeted us and answered our questions. Food was very good and delicious. I would eat their again if in the area. However, the inside needs a remodel. The ceiling needs to be taken down and redone and the decor is very dated. Upon leaving I missed the step....

Everything was so good & fresh! The gluten free menu was exceptional! And super tasty to boot! My husband's entree was very good as well. We went with friends that were pleased with their entries too.....consensus is ' we will be back!" ?

I have to eat completely dairy free for my son and haven't gone out to eat since January for this reason. My MIL was in town so we all went out to eat, and our waiter was so great! He checked on everything to make sure it was dairy free, and I was able to enjoy my meal, even if it was just plain spaghetti with sauce! My son also enjoyed his plate beside me as well. The bread smelled so delicious. I will be returning once I can eat dairy again!

The food was excellent! Grouper was lightly breaded and went well with the pasta. The scallops and shrimp over fettuccine over lobster sauce was to die for. Love the fact that the restaurant is quiet and you’re not rushed. We had a red Cabernet that was reasonably priced and went well with the meal. The service was just the right pace and server extremely pleasant. We would recommend this restaurant for your special night out.

Our waitress was very sweet. The food however was a little disappointing. People have raved about this place and finally tried it. Not impressed. Ravioli was fine , sauce was watery and didn’t stick. My husband got spaghetti and meatballs. I make better meatballs. They were gross and had no flavor. The frozen meatballs in the grocery store might have more flavor. Another place I feel is just over rated in the greater Charleston area. Probably won’t be back.

My wife, myself and our neighbor decided to give Red Pepper a try. It for sure did not disappoint us. I had the veal parm which was plentiful and delicious. My wife enjoyed the eggplant parm which she thought was one of the best she has had. Our neighbor Had the chicken parm which also got top plaudits from him. Two of us had the cheesecake for dessert which was a hefty chunk and quite good. WE WILL BE BACK. Service was very attentive and friendly. Price wise a bid higher but well worth it.

We were in Summerville looking at a home for sale. We found the Red Pepper where we were able the get a reservation on a Friday evening. Got seated right away, and had good service. The food and cocktails were delicious. We will definitely return.

While our neighbors raved about the fish dish I had, I was disappointed to find that it was friend, messy and served with way too much pasta. i could not find anything on the map that really appealed to me. Everything was served with so much pasta. I know I could have said to come with less, it just sounded unappetizing on the menu. We had a nice served who did well, even though there were ten of us. I would like to see a few lighter options on the menu.

Our party of four researched and decided on this eatery. BIG mistake! Upon pulling into the parking area, we noticed the sign outside by the road. It read: "Kitchen Help Wanted", and we should have heeded the "warning"!! Our server did the best she could, but nonetheless, our dinners arrived nearly an hour and forty minutes after being ordered. The pasta dishes (Carbonera, and Alfredo) had clearly been sitting under the warming light for some time, as evidenced by the dry crustiness of the food surface. After a mix & toss however, the entrees were brought back to life. The salmon offering was ok (at best), and the pasta and meatballs with red sauce seemed the freshest and most recently "put together". After we had eaten, the Hostess approached out table, and asked: "Was it worth the wait??" Well... not really. Yikes! Apparently there is drama... a history of shouting and cursing that leaks out of the kitchen with some frequency. It would appear that one of the cooks (and some previous others) had just had enough, and walked! Regardless, this is high priced, ordinary and unremarkable food. I would not recommend this establishment. At least not until they finally get some capable kitchen help (and perhaps a new chef). Peace.

One of the best Italian restaurants I've ever ate at

This place was recommended by a local hotel I was visiting so I figured I would give it a shot. The staff was funny and great with the kids. Calamari was very good. However, an hour and half later and watching people come and go while still waiting for food was frustrating. 4 out of 5 meals were simple, buttered noodles, fettuccine Alfredo, small pizza, but they claimed the long wait was because the difficulty of our meal choices. We had been out of drinks for 40 minutes with no refill in sight. Once food finally arrived, my shrimp was cold and extremely dry. Poor shrimp was killed twice. Going back to hotel to eat Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup. Shame. The evening started out good with so much potential.

This is the cutest place. Old house turned into restaurant. The food is amazing.
