The stuffed shells were absolutely delicious. Typically go for the lobster ravioli but wanted to switch it up. The gluten free calamari was lacking in flavor some though. It was missing something but couldn't quite figure out what.Dietary restrictions: They have an entire gluten free menu!

UPDATE: the disgusting chef is the owner!!!! Avoid this place at all costs! He threatens to beat his employees to death. Freaking psycho. How he has anyone working or him or not arrested is beyond me. Sad to say I can no longer recommend this place and recommend avoiding at all costs. My cousin and I took our 4 young children there for lunch this week. We were the only table in the restaurant minus a table of 12 that was supposed to come in shortly after us. We get our food but shortly after we hear a big crash in the kitchen. We are unsure what happened but then we hear the head chef screaming and throwing things. Threatening to attack and physically harm our waiter. Using terrible profanity and screaming at the top of his lungs while breaking dishes. We promptly try and leave and ask for our check as we felt unsafe. Our server told us just to leave. We were followed out by one of the kitchen staff who laughed and asked if we enjoyed the show. I have emailed the restaurant, messaged and called to speak with the owner with no response and that chef is still allowed to work there. The most ridiculous and unprofessional display I've ever witnessed at a restaurant. We will never be returning and suggest other avoid it. If the owners employee someone like that then they don't care about their customers either.

Our trip to the red pepper was awesome. Our last night at summerville was complete with our amazing service from Lacy, some amazing pastas, and one amazing cheesecake. Definitely recommend!!

I read the reviews and menu online. My husband loves a good veal dinner.(not all good restaurants make veal) After a day of traveling we found The Red Pepper. We went on a slower day, Tuesday. It was a little hard to locate on the main road but glad we did. Once inside the hostess reminded us to watch our step and inside we went. The wait staff greeted us and answered our questions. Food was very good and delicious. I would eat their again if in the area. However, the inside needs a remodel. The ceiling needs to be taken down and redone and the decor is very dated. Upon leaving I missed the step....

Everything was so good & fresh! The gluten free menu was exceptional! And super tasty to boot! My husband's entree was very good as well. We went with friends that were pleased with their entries too.....consensus is ' we will be back!" ?

Victor was more than accommodating with my large party of 18. He printed out special menus with the bride and grooms names with dome pre-selected food items. Our waiter was very helpful and nice and the food was good too! Everyone had a lovely time

I have to eat completely dairy free for my son and haven't gone out to eat since January for this reason. My MIL was in town so we all went out to eat, and our waiter was so great! He checked on everything to make sure it was dairy free, and I was able to enjoy my meal, even if it was just plain spaghetti with sauce! My son also enjoyed his plate beside me as well. The bread smelled so delicious. I will be returning once I can eat dairy again!

Ordered through GrubHub at 6:45 pm tonight. Order went through just fine. Then at 7:11 we receive an "order cancelled " notification and that they were closed (on a Friday night). Thanks a lot and NEVER AGAIN.

As a recently transplanted NY'er, mypartner and I have been to our share of Italian eateries and have to say that Red Pepper offers that old world experience that other restaurants often seek but seldom achieved. Delicious lobster ravioli and the veal piccata could of been prepared by my nonna. Service was attentive but unobtrusive. Great find.

This restaurant was recommended to me from a local Facebook group. Was really excited to try it. They have a gluten-free menu available upon request too. Our server was Jenna and she was great. We just moved here as was looking for a family friendly Italian restaurant. We thought we found it, until the Chef started cussing loudly from the kitchen. I didn't want my kids hearing M-fer this and m-fer that. I got up to speak to someone about it and they said it was Chef Jim and that he owns it. We'll that does it for me. Jim, you made a horrible first impression. You got $125 tonight and that will be the last $ you'll get from us. I do not recommend this place if you have kids or value intelligent speech. In terms of class... Olive Garden is better.

Small town mom and pop restaurant with excellent pasta and the calamari was amazing. Only issue was that some of seafood in my pasta was slightly overdone, but overall delicious.

The food was excellent! Grouper was lightly breaded and went well with the pasta. The scallops and shrimp over fettuccine over lobster sauce was to die for. Love the fact that the restaurant is quiet and you’re not rushed. We had a red Cabernet that was reasonably priced and went well with the meal. The service was just the right pace and server extremely pleasant. We would recommend this restaurant for your special night out.

Our waitress was very sweet. The food however was a little disappointing. People have raved about this place and finally tried it. Not impressed. Ravioli was fine , sauce was watery and didn’t stick. My husband got spaghetti and meatballs. I make better meatballs. They were gross and had no flavor. The frozen meatballs in the grocery store might have more flavor. Another place I feel is just over rated in the greater Charleston area. Probably won’t be back.
