Ye Ole Fashioned Ice Cream and Sandwich Cafe

Store was clean, ice creme scoops generous. However, I observed the ice cream servers were not wearing gloves.

The ice cream is good and fruits were fresh! Unfortunately, when we came in last night (May 23) we had a really bazar encounter with the young man that took our order he seemed out of sorts and lost. We waited a total of 55 minutes for a banana split and chili dog, asking him about 4 times in that time span how the order was coming along. At one point we watched him make the banana split about 80%, stopped abruptly, put it down right in the middle of the counter by the tea canisters and then just left? It sat there for 30 minutes melting and being moved around and out of the way by several other employees making orders. Every time we asked him how the order was coming along he said “so sorry it’s coming now” but then would walk the opposite way and kind of wonder around aimlessly. When we finally tracked down a manager that had been standing there the entire time making shakes (no one wears name tags so we didn’t know she was a manager at first) she didn’t react or seem to care. We asked if we could have the partially made banana split remade since it was still sitting in the middle of the counter completely melted. She asked him to remake, we waited an additional 15 minutes because he just didn’t seem to know what he was doing. I felt bad for him at some point because he seemed to be having an internal panic attack but none of the 10 employees next to him or manager was helping. After we got our banana split, we waited an additional 5 minutes for the chili dog, but my husband got fed up waiting and we just left with half our order. The manager watched us walk out and could not care less to remedy the situation. The banana split was delicious though partly melted. In total we watched over a dozen families come in and out, pick up to go orders or sitting down to eat and leaving as we stood there (in the way) by the ice cream counter.

I had my son pick up a large fried chicken Chicken Salad. He got some Loaded fries. The entire order is trash. He’s headed back up there now. So now we got food sitting and food that needs to be replaced. On top of having to drive all the way back to fix the issues. The salad with no dressing has hot chicken on top of cold greens…. we all know what that does. By the time he gets back, some of it will be soggy and wilted. His cheese fries are just a big clump of cheese that’s not melted on top of his fries. For the amount of money you pay to eat out these days you would expect a quality check before the food is sent out. The salad being sent out without dressing alone just means that nobody really cared to slow down and finish their job to completion. Or be bothered to check to make sure all components were there.

Best food ever and wonderful atmosphere

This place is always happening. The burgers, chicken fingers, egg salad, and salads are really good.

Best lunch or dinner stop. The amount of food is a lot. I love there French fries and onion rings.

I asked for a chef salad today and see the picture to sew what I got-a tray of lettuce with a dab of cold chicken, tomatoes, a sprinkle of cheese. I called and whoever answered said she could only give me 10% of my next order. Nope, there will not be a next order with you.

Ye Ole Fashioned Ice Cream and Sandwich Cafe really delivers on that nostalgic burger joint vibe.

The inside is nice and clean, and the employees all look like they genuinely enjoy working here.

Burgers come with either a 4 or 6 oz patty. I decided on the Bacon Cheeseburger in a 6 oz. It comes with lettuce, tomato, sauce, and onions. I made it into a combo, so my total was about $17 after tax.

The burger was perfectly cooked, and the sauce on it went really well with cheese and bacon. I almost went with a double, but was definitely satisfied with the single and the fries. (It was almost a full basket of them, much more than a large fries from a certain golden arches franchise.)

They have crinkle cut fries, and they're cooked just enough to get that crunchy exterior and a fluffy pillowy inside.

They have a large selection of ice cream, but after eating my fill on the combo, I couldn't bring myself to order any, maybe next time.

I definitely recommend this place for anybody looking for a better burger joint.

I will also have to come back for their ice cream, or shakes, or sundaes.

Parking: It is a rather small parking lot, with additional spots behind the restaurant. They do also have a drive through as well.

Kid-friendliness: Definitely a kid-friendly place! It's an ice cream shoppe, and the employees were really patient with the children.

Wheelchair accessibility: There is a combination of moveable tables and booths inside, so there is no hindrance to those in wheelchairs.

I asked for a foot long with cole slaw ketchup and onions and she put sour crout on my hotdogs. Didn't realize until I got home and now I'm still hungry bc I don't eat that

We did the drive through and were waiting a bit. I ordered the brownie sundae with moose tracks but was just given a regular brownie sundae.

They can't get simple orders correct sausage with Chilli not cheese. The salad came with no dressing.

We stopped by and got ice cream in cups. 2 scoops looked more like 4 scoops. Delicious and large portions.
