Applebee's Grill + Bar in Sumter, SC offers a mix of experiences. The burger was enjoyable, and the service was good, with a gracious manager accommodating requests. The two for 25 is a perfect option, and the lunch special seemed like a good deal. The waitress was friendly and makes phenomenal drinks. Each group ate well and enjoyed the meal. However, the restaurant is filthy, with dirt and dust hanging in clumps from the ceilings and dead bugs in the light fixtures. Cleanliness could be improved, as evidenced by dirty plates left around. The staff seemed a little overworked and short staffed. Overall, a decent spot if you set your expectations low.
