Our first stop into Wards on our way to Columbia, we ordered twoBar b que sandwiches. One sandwich with slaw n hash and the other just bar b que. for sides we got a potato salad and a banana pudding. The barb que was very tasty and not greasy at all. This is the first hash I have had like this and it was very, very good. Out meal was very good. We are glad we found a new place to eat in Sumter.
Recently had this as a "to go". I found the meat had a vinegar taste that did not work for me. The sides were okay. The "hash" was the first time I have ever eaten it. I am not sure if I like that or not. It was over white rice that did not have much flavor to me. The friend I was with thought it was okay for a change. I do not think I will be eating from Ward's again soon.
Love the food but the staff is unprofessional. There was a disagreement about a lunch order and two of the staff carried on the whole time I was waiting for my food. I even had to wait a few minutes before anyone took my order. If I didn't life 5 hours away and could get hash and rice elsewhere, I would have walked out
