I think our server did not want to be there and she should not have been. She barely spoke, no follow up, had to try and get her attention. She had three table out of the five occupied. We ordered a ham and cheese omelet with hash browns and did not want any of the bread items that came with it. I ordered just the sausage and cheese omelet and did not want any of the items that came with it. But I did order 1 pancake as a side. She never came to our table again. The cook brought our food to the table. We tried to get our servers attention for ketchup for the hash browns until we said "excuse me could we get some ketchup please" extremely loud. She dropped it at the table, never said a word. Omelets were just ok, hash browns were so greasy and did not taste well. The pancake was good though. A customer went to get the coffee pot to fill her cup and on her way back she asked us if we would like a refill. We had more interaction from a fellow diner than the server. When I went to the register to pay, we were not given a ticket nor was another set of diners in front of us at the register. When she rang us up, I inserted the credit card to pay and she said "fill in the tip amount". Our bill for two omelets, one pancake and one coffee was $21. Gave the place a try as it is only three miles from us on the lake. As the title of the review states, a server can make or break a place.

My family loves this place. Every year we come for Memorial Day and Labor Day. Amazingly good food that's cheap and some down to earth people. Highly recommend! Just a hometown hole in the wall place that's good for the soul.

A weekend trip to Townville SC to visit our friends who left CHS for retired life in small town America, lead us to Waldrop's for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Located at the top of a hill from one of the lakes boat ramps, this quaint spot is perfect for supporting local. From the red and white vinyl picnic table clothes, styrofoam cups, roll of paper towels and Texas Pete at each table, I knew we were going to enjoy some great food. Eggs, crispy bacon, toast served with warm melty butter to spread and cheesy hash browns were all delicious. I also tried their jalapeño grits which were yummy too. Reasonable priced, great service, and great food!

On our way home, we were hungry for breakfast and came about 10 minutes off of the interstate and happy we did. The view on the way here is beautiful! The owner was super friendly. Dining area and restrooms were clean. Our server was very pleasant & welcoming. We had the western omelet, grits, home fries, hash, biscuits and toast. Everything was so good & tasty. We'd definitely come again when in the area.
