I tried this restaurant with two of my granddaughters recently. It used to be a French cuisine place and has changed over to Italian. We all enjoyed our meals. One person had the chicken Parmesan another had meatballs, and I had veal Milanese with mashed potatoes. The portions were very generous. We had the cheeseboard to start which we all enjoyed, and we shared a sweet potato crème brûlée for dessert. It was very unusual and tasty. Would love to go back and try different menu items.

We made a pit stop here for dinner during a long drive from GA to NC. We enjoyed everything we ordered; you can tell there was a lot of thought placed into the flavor profile of each dish. Atmosphere was cool, and our server (we sat at the bar downstairs) was beyond excellent.

I haven’t been here since the menu change to Italian. It was a great choice. Food was excellent and service was good. I’ll definitely come back. Nice job switching things up.

I got the spaghetti and the meatball and it was pretty good, the meatball was good, but a lil too saucy for my taste.
Atmosphere was pretty chill, but limited seating cuz it was cold out, y'all should get some heaters fr.

Best dinner I have had in a long time 😊
Lemon cello was delicious the steak cooked to perfection and the collard greens appetizer was amazing! We ate on the rooftop deck which has a great view of the city.

Our first time here was spectacular. The cuisine was absolutely delicious, especially with the fact that we tried dishes that we had never tasted before. They proved the old adage that it's sometimes good to step outside of your comfort zone. High regards to the chef and kitchen staff! The modern Italian atmosphere complimented our food, right down to Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin crooning in the background. And, the service was impeccable. Zoey, our server, was a true delight. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about our experience. Without a doubt, my wife and I have added the Black Rooster as a new favorite restaurant for date nights!

I couldn’t recommend Black Rooster more heavily. The staff as a whole make their guests feel welcome, special, and at home. Our server, Ashley, was so kind and helpful. She happily answered our questions and ensured our experience and meals were PERFECT. The ambiance is elegant while maintaining a comforting and cozy feel. The food was unbelievably well-priced considering the amount and quality of the food. It was also great to go to a restaurant that did not rush you out of there, only worried about turning tables. Black Rooster truly allows you to enjoy your food and the experience as a whole. We will definitely be back soon!

Our first time eating there. It was overpriced and service poor (on a Friday night). Escargot got wife and I sick. I'll not be back.

Wife and I went just to try the place. We went to the roof top to get away from street noise. We started with drinks which unfortunately were very watered down. We then ordered the brisket burger and pasta. The brisket burger had no trditional brisket but supposedly had brisket mixed with the hamburger. We both love brisket and regularly smoke our own. Raw beef that could to used to make brisket is NOT brisket. Anyone that tell you different needs to return to culinary school. As expected it tasted like a cheap, very overcooked burger to us. Add insult to injury the fries the accompanied the hamburger were delivered cold. The pasta was under cooked far beyond Al dente and the rest of the dish was just as unremarkable as the mixed drinks. The menu promised elevated cuisine but delivered less than we have had a decent local restaurants for half the price. Based on our experience we cannot recommend this establishment.

We love Black Rooster and have been many times on the rooftop and enjoyed the service. Last Friday we had made reservations a week in advance for a family. When we got there, we were told someone was still at our table. We waited for almost an hour to be seated. We were offered to sit on the rooftop but we made reservations for a sit down dinner and did not want to have to go up and put in 7 orders at the bar. Usually the service is phenomenal and one person did apologize, who I an assuming was a manager. As far as the food, the cheese board was great but several of the main dishes were cold when they came out. Our waitress was very kind and did a great job serving but having to wait so long initially was disappointing.

Lively place with a solid menu and drinks. We've never sat on the rooftop, but there's always a constant flow growing up. Good meet up place, always a bit loud.
