My partner and I started coming to the Black Rooster for business meetings and every time we’re in town we have to stop by. Elliott and Brooke have always made us feel welcomed and their level of service is exceptional. The whole BR team has been amazing. Their cocktails and food never disappoint. If you’re lucky to get a seat on the patio, you catch a beautiful sunset and great vibes.

My co worker and I were in town for a work trip from Michigan and came across this restaurant. The food and atmosphere were great but our service was exceptional. Our server Ashley was the sweetest person and made our experience and time here at Black Rooster incredible. We will definitely be back!

I recently dined solo here, and the service was easily the highlight of the experience. My server had a great attitude, was attentive, and made sure I was well taken care of.

The space itself felt a bit cramped, the downstairs dining area could definitely benefit from a more open and refined layout. I initially ordered the Caesar salad, but the lettuce was wilted, likely from sitting under a heat source or soaking too long in dressing. Fortunately, the server was quick to remake it without hesitation, which I really appreciated.

For drinks, the Hugo Spritz was refreshing and well-balanced. The Chrysalis cocktail, however, had an unpleasant chemical taste, almost like tire rubber, definitely a miss.

I also tried the bolognese, which was pretty good. The noodles were slightly overcooked, but overall the flavor profile was very nice.

Overall, the service was excellent and genuinely improved the experience, the food and atmosphere didn’t quite meet my expectations but I’ll try anything at least three times.

The black rooster has great curb appeal and is decorated nicely inside. The roof top has beautiful views as well!
I had the chicken Parmesan and small salad and found them to both be underwhelming in taste. I asked for no noodles and veggies and to substitute it with the mash potatoes and I still got a 4$ surcharge for this.. The chicken Parmesan and pasta sauce just wasn’t great and definitely didn’t have enough marinara. I asked for more marinara and got another 4$ surcharge… honestly this is the 2nd worst chicken Parmesan I’ve had and Olive Garden is not #1 worst :). The mashed potatoes tasted great. The salad was lack luster as it was just lettuce with dressing, no cheese, tomatoes or anything else…
The best thing here was their drinks. Their bartenders knew what they were doing and made a great ol fashion.

If you were looking at the menu, reviews and/or pictures and wondering if they have good food.. the answer is YES. The burger & fries ….. Please, do yourself a favor. GET IT! I do believe that this may be the absolute BEST burger/fry combination I’ve ever had! And honestly (I’m not a burger girl!) The cheese, the caramelized onions.. worth every calorie. The service was incredible! Grace was so sweet & attentive my entire visit. She played with babies, stood and listened while I talked her head off. The drinks were perfectly made. Don’t even get me started on THE PLAYLIST. I individually downloaded every single song. Then, to top it all off, the chocolate, strawberry dessert with mascarpone was absolute perfection! This is now my favorite place in Columbia. I would give it 10 stars if I could.

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Columbia. There isn't a bad thing on the menu. The cocktails are all top notch. I do miss the the mussel fries but they are doing a fantastic job with the italian concept. I highly recommend the rigatoni and whipped ricotta. Best view in the city as well.

Royale with cheese, wife had rigatoni. Consistently good. Sat on rooftop. Good food, good drinks, good service. That's what brings you back.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Columbia. Happy to dine here anytime! I wish they were open on Sundays too. The food is always delicious, I love their interesting appetizers. My top picks are the escargot and the beet salad. Almost all of the desserts I have tried were outstanding. However, I probably would not order the (it was something like) lemon creme brulee again. They also have several interesting, tasty cocktails to choose from. Bon appetit!!
