What a treat to enter the quaint and friendly world of Breakfast at Ruiz in Columbia, SC. My fiancé and I were delighted with the wonderful service and comfortable ambience. Clearly, this place can be bustling on any given day! In particular, our warm and personable server, Vraj, provided all the positive vibes, even making the food selection into an adventure! He moved easily from greeting folks to working the bar and taking orders, all with a smile and a skip in his step. Our food was made to order and came out hot with a gorgeous presentation! All in all, Breakfast at Ruiz offers a romantic time for a reasonable price, seasoned to perfection!

December 18, 2025 I went here for breakfast. It's a cute little spot. When I say small it's small. My brother and I didn't make any reservations. By the way if you do make reservations make sure your whole party is there or you will not be seated and the people behind you will sit. It was very crowded when we got there. There was no server to greet us when we came in. We stood there for approximately 10 to 15 minutes before a server came.
They asked us did we want to sit a the bar, wait another 5 to 10 minutes while they clean off table or seat at the cute little island at the front. I decided to sit at the cute little island at the front. We had scencery from outside.
I ordered hot chocolate and the French toast with banana foster, pork sausage and over easy egg. I can't forget the bacon. The food was very delicious. I laugh at my pork sausage because it really didn't look like a sausage link I ever seen before. 😂. I would recommend. Next time I go I want to try the steak and egg breakfast.
My brother ordered the shrimp and grits which is not pictured. He also ordered bacon with hit chocolate.
I heard there mimosa are good. For those who love them. I think you should try it. Need a new breakfast or brunch spot try this place out.

The general atmosphere of this location was fine but after being seated, we received no service after 15 minutes. We would have loved to eat here, but they didn’t even get our drinks..
Lively spot, omelette was a bit on the dry side.

Waffles are soft and soggy , grits full of scallions . Over priced on juice! Service good , everyone friendly . Overall impression is overpriced . I spent 48.00 dollars for two for an okay breakfast, and we shared .

Breakfast at Ruiz was everything this morning.
Our server Racheal was phenomenal from start to finish. She was warm, attentive, and gave great recommendations that absolutely hit the mark.
We started with the mimosa flight, which was fun and delicious. My partner ordered the Bananas Foster waffles (21+ only) and they were incredible – rich, flavorful, and perfectly done. I had the chicken Philly omelette with fries, and it was honestly to die for. The portion was generous, the flavors were on point, and it came out hot and fresh.
Between the amazing food and Racheal’s exceptional service, Breakfast at Ruiz is an easy 5/5. We’ll definitely be back!

We had reserved seating for a family of 7 at Breakfast at Ruiz in South Carolina. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to fully accommodate our group at one table—five of us were seated together, while the other two had to sit at a separate table, which was a bit disappointing for a family outing. It was understandable as it is a quaint place and charming.
That said, the service was attentive and friendly, and the food was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. Despite the seating issue, we still enjoyed our meal and appreciated the great hospitality.

We were looking for a new place to eat and stumbled upon Breakfast at Ruiz. This nice quaint place did not disappoint. The food was amazing and so was the service. We wanted something similar to a mocktail which was not a menu item and guess what? They made us a specialty drink and it was delicious! Same ingredients as a Guava Mojito minus the alcohol!! If you’re craving an afternoon bite, please stop by @BreakfastatRuiz. We will definitely be back!!
