Schwan's Recreation is a true hidden gem and a classic slice of Americana right in the heart of Aberdeen! We stopped by based on a local recommendation, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The atmosphere is fantastic it has that cozy, retro vibe, is spotlessly clean, and feels incredibly welcoming. The staff was wonderful; they greeted us with a smile and provided quick, attentive service. The food was the highlight, though—the burgers and milkshakes are absolutely legendary. Being conveniently located on 1st Avenue makes it easy to find with plenty of parking nearby. It’s the perfect spot for a family meal or catching up with friends. We’ll definitely be back!

You came here for the drinks, stiff and cold, but then you find out that the food is awesome. Quality of an expensive restaurant, at a price that you don't find many places these days... 10/10 would recommend. A hidden gem for sure...

The dude tonight behind the bar was good at first. His Feelings hurt on questions about the special (food)he couldn't answer I guess. No hard feelings. He's a delicate flower..do not ask a question it hurts his FEELINGS 🤭🤭 sit and shut up..poor little guy

This place is one of the few "mom & pop / neighborhood bar and grill" places left. It remains one of the hallmarks of our hometown small businesses.When I came back to visit my dad, he asked if I'd like to go out for lunch, and have the best burgers in town. Of course I thought he was mildly exaggerating. Well you guessed it, I was wrong and dad was right."I should have listened to him more often".That day not only did I have a great burger, but I had a great memory with my dad.
