WOW! Wife and I were looking for a place for lunch. A local recommended Purple Pie Place. I am SO glad he did. We had wonderful salads, and apple pie was spectacular with vanilla ice cream. I normally tolerate our crusts. This one was a masterpiece. Service was 10 out of 10, took care of us and was just the right amount of fun. RECOMMEND HIGHLY

This place looked like the place to eat in Custer SD. Line to the ice cream part was long but moving. The restaurant was easily available. We ordered their famous chicken pot pie and it was delicious! We then ordered a slice of peach pie with a speciality peach vanilla ice cream. In Heaven! Not a place to miss if you have time on the way to Mt. Rushmore

We had ice cream and pie with coffee and tea. Usually American pies are really sweet but this one was perfect love different ice cream flavors. It was a little crowded but still a nice place to get some desert.

Very good pie and ice cream. A little over priced I thought. Very crowded. Parking lot is small. I got cherry pie with ice cream. My wife got a fudge brownie sundae. Both were very good.

My Mom was known for her pies, especially her crust. The Cherry pie here brought back memories of hers, that is the highest compliment I could give. The service was excellent.

Long line when we got there and we were a group of 20. They smiled and offered their dining room for our comfort. Quick service with our big group and other customers. Sandwiches were so good and pie even better! Highly Recommend!!

Use to be a wonderful place but sadly it's changed, we went end of season 2024 and open of 2025 and both times was disappointing. The pie crust was so underbaked the bottom was still raw, both times, the filling is can filling and the "homemade" chicken potpie is now from frozen pre-made ingredients, with a hard flat heart shaped "biscuit" on top, not the flaky chicken shaped herb one I remember from years ago. For the price tag, I can make better at home.
