Love this place to the point of coming three times… loved the walleye and the bison and the orange possett!

Very welcoming and friendly place. The Elk mushrooms and Elk bolognese were excellent. The shrimp and grits were good but different, didn't really care for the sauce which may be a reduction containing Worcester sauce and brown sugar. The carrot cake is also really moist and tastey.

My pot roast sandwich was SO GOOD! Ya never see that on menus! The bread was so good n toasted perfectly. The carrot cake is spectacular! I never take pictures of food, but I took pictures of that!! Really lovely waiter, Tara, was very fun, personable and prompt. Owner stopped by the table both nights we went. Autumn harvest bisque soup was terrific too. Perfect subtle spices and very creamy. I'm a picky judge of food and this met my standards. Wish we lived nearby. It would be a go to place.
The beer was good too! 1 note though, like all the restaurants in the area , they need to stop giving straws. Let ppl ask for them. This is a place of incredible natural beauty. Keep plastics out! 1 tiny thing can go a long way. But definitely go there!

The bison burger was to die for! I got mine medium rare and it wasn't dry at all. The Elk sausage stuffed mushrooms were amazing!!! I could of made a meal out of just those!

We loved everything- Elk Stuffed mushrooms, the soup of the day, and beautiful entrees. Plus dumpling for dessert. Our courses came out too quickly but we did enjoy them.

An amazing experience, the Salmon Picatta was excellent. I was looking for a dish that was not heavy and the Salmon fit the bill perfectly. Everything was just packed with flavor, I even ate the artichokes and I hate artichokes! I would have given the food 4.5 (but you can't) stars as the Salmon was just a tiny bit over cooked, but it honestly didn't take anything away, it was just that good. Our server, who I cannot remember her name for the life of me, was amazing. She took care of us and was very attentive even though it was the end of the night.
My wife had the bison ribeye, and it was excellent. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor with a wonderful crust from the grille.
For dessert, we shared a wonderfully light Creme Brulee Cheesecake. They somehow made a cheesecake that wasn't overly sweet but still full of flavor, just wonderfully balanced between the cheesecake and strawberry topping.
We will definitely be back, the Sage Creek Grille has made our "must have" list when visiting the Hills!

We used to like the pot roast sandwich 2 years ago. It was like, $12. Now, the same sandwich is $21 ! Give me a break. Now it is owned by some management company. I guess the Jamaican kitchen staff must have joined the union ! Just another business trying to fleece the tourists.
We will go elsewhere, thank you.

This is a highly rated wonderful restaurant, great food and service. However, the air conditioning blows sub zero temperatures to tables directly in front of the vent. Even with temporary adjustments, it makes for a downright unpleasant atmosphere. Chose tables in other locations, if possible.

This little place in Custer, SD is great! My daughter and I stopped her to eat while we were in the area. She had the Pure Bison burger and I had the Elk burger. Both were delicious and perfectly prepared. The restaurant was packed when we got there so we were seated at the bar. They have a nice selection of beers on tap and bottled...many of which are local. The service was excellent, also! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Elk stuffed mushrooms, bison ribeye and grilled walleye were all sensational as was the atmosphere and the 5-star staff.
We can't wait for our next Custer visit and dinner at Sage Creek Grille!
Phenomenal food and service. The elk stuffed mushrooms were amazing! Great selection of wines and recommended pairing. Highly recommend, especially the spiced dumpling for dessert!
