Amazing place the food was on par with anything else I’ve had at bigger restaurants in bigger cities, it’s a little gem for custard , and everyone was inviting and friendly! Don’t pass this up if you like great food we will always come back from Nebraska!

I like the casual atmosphere. At no time did I feel out of place in jeans and hoodie. The service was great. Renata was incredibly kind and took care of me. The portion sizes were perfect. I enjoying a couple items when trying out a new restaurant without having to stuff myself or waste food. I started with the pumpkin raviolis which were a perfect autumn appetizer. Next was the Duck Leg which was so tender it was falling off the bone. And the encore and finale being the Dimock Butter Cake. For beverage, I enjoyed the Cotes de Rhone and a Port for Dessert. All in all, a very enjoyable dinner. It's nice to see places like this popping up in South Dakota.

We had only been here once before and it was just as good as I remembered. Every dish was excellent - tomato soup, mushroom ravioli, salad, filet mignon, and the caramel pudding. All delicious and the service was top-notch. Can't wait to go back.

The food was very good, not excellent. The server had great timing, but didn't make us feel comfortable. The chairs had no padding and there was a battle in the atmosphere between country and modern. Nice enough place for a small tourist town, though.

I've traveled all over the US in my previous position in a Medical field. This was by far......the best meal I have ever had. The sauces and the combination of unexpected combinations was amazing. I can't recommend one item....everything we had was a taste sensation and the service is what you would expect on Park Ave. in LA, Chicago or NY.

Best chef and cook staff between Denver to Minneapolis
Braised short rib is amazing - juicy and as with every dish, there’s always some sauce that makes the protein even better that chef pairs it with; filet may seem elementary but not at this place - doubtful you have ever had better; starters are a must; recommend lobster rolls and beef tartare; save room Dimock butter cake

When in the Black Hills don't miss this restaurant. Quality service and amazing dining. It's small, so make sure to get a reservation.

Amazing gem!!!
I chose this restaurant because they had foie gras. I had never had foie gras, so this checked off a box on my culinary to-try list. I was very surprised to find this offering was in Custer, SD.
We reserved kitchen counter seats (another check). Basically the seats are like a chefs table, but a lot more fun. This place was very intimate because it's very small and cozy, another huge plus. The menu was perfectly short. There weren't 15 entrees and 50 sides, etc. There were 8 sides and 5 entrees. Few options but a world of difference between the offerings.
We sat and watched a well-oiled brigade do their culinary magic while our server answered any questions and treated us like "friends," not customers. She is a superstar. Renata is her name. She made us feel so welcome and even had the chef come over when I had a question about an ingredient. Renata made the experience go from amazing food to an amazing experience.
So often the food is good but the staff is terrible and vice-versa.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention that every member of the staff, from brigade member to back-kitchen support staff, was friendly and conversational. I was, kindof, hoping for the Gordon Ramsay experience, but Chef never called anyone a donkey or muppet. I guess that will have to wait for hell's kitchen reservations.
I will go back every time I am near Custer. This is an unexpected gem in an area that is very tourist focused. One doesn't find this type of experience often in big cities, let alone in a one signal town.
Renata, thank you for elevating this already amazing place! To the rest of the staff, I may not have your names, but you were all awesome.
I hope to see you all again, the sooner the better.
We ordered lobster steam buns and tuna sashimi appetizers. For entrees, filet mignon w/foie gras and chanterelle mushrooms. Butter cake and strawberry sorbet for dessert. We also drank a local IPA.
Vegetarian options: I noticed options without meat. Only one entrees, but it looked good. Even better if it came with a steak ;)
Dietary restrictions: They asked when I made reservations to note any dietary restrictions, so I'm guessing they are mindful of them and accommodate when they can.
Parking: We parked on street 10yds from entrance. There were plenty of available spots, and I believe there is a lot behind the restaurant.

This is a destination dining experience. The food was an incredible mix of flavors, textures, and colors. The chef really knows his stuff. You don't need a reservation, but I'd recommend it.
