Gourmet food from a James Beard finalist in our tiny town. I would give the food more stars if allowed. It's absolutely amazing!

What an awesome place to eat great tasting food. It’s a must for anyone that comes to Custer or lives here. Relaxed vibe, attentive wait staff, Sidney was so knowledgeable and gave us great advice. Rabbit entree was so tender, halibut, duck, butter cake were all great. We had several cocktails so our costs pp was due to that. Very ready prices for quality.

This place is worth the drive from Rapid City. Great food made from solid, real ingredients. My only critique is that there seems to be an overuse of salt on some of the dishes.

The food was fabulous! The chef/owner did so many things that were out of the box from the octopus, beef tartare tacos, Parmesan soup and duck confit. They deserve more than 5 stars!

A must visit restaurant when in Custer. Unique flavour combinations executed perfectly. Excellent wine list. Friendly and professional service. Can’t fault this place.

Outstanding experience, and such a pleasant surprise. We were visiting Custer with family during our anniversary, and made a reservation here with high hopes. We were not disappointed - this is one of the best meals I have had in years. The food was fresh, exciting, innovative and delicious. Hats off to everyone at Skogen.

Amazing place the food was on par with anything else I’ve had at bigger restaurants in bigger cities, it’s a little gem for custard , and everyone was inviting and friendly! Don’t pass this up if you like great food we will always come back from Nebraska!

I like the casual atmosphere. At no time did I feel out of place in jeans and hoodie. The service was great. Renata was incredibly kind and took care of me. The portion sizes were perfect. I enjoying a couple items when trying out a new restaurant without having to stuff myself or waste food. I started with the pumpkin raviolis which were a perfect autumn appetizer. Next was the Duck Leg which was so tender it was falling off the bone. And the encore and finale being the Dimock Butter Cake. For beverage, I enjoyed the Cotes de Rhone and a Port for Dessert. All in all, a very enjoyable dinner. It's nice to see places like this popping up in South Dakota.
