We have stayed at The Lodge several times and have NEVER had a bad experience. This time Logan helped us over the phone and when we arrived. He was very knowledgeable and was overly accommodating to us. Kudos to him for making out last stay very pleasurable.
The rooms are spacious, clean, and beds comfortable. Indoor and outdoor doors with balcony’s on the top floor. The pool area is amazing with a great hot tub. The Lodge is a whole experience in and of itself. If you enjoy sports there is a 42 foot tv “wall” you can watch. Of course there is a casino and a good restaurant called Oggies. There is a comfy living area with a couch, chairs and a tv your family can hang out in. They have coffee 24/7 and it’s good too. We will stay here any chance we get.
Rooms: Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Huge walk in showers. Microwave and mini fridge.
Nearby activities: Plenty of activities in downtown deadwood
Safety: Safe area. Never had any issues or concerns.
Walkability: Can take the short walk down the hill to Deadwood (in good weather). Can also take the trolley to downtown deadwood.
Food and drinks: Free soft drinks for casino area, Oggies restaurant has breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Noteworthy details: Beautiful lodge, casino, pool and hot tub, coffee 24/7, restaurant, Huge tv room for all sports.

Stranded at the Rapid City airport and then I saw a familiar sign for the Lodge that offered shuttle service! First of all we stay here quite a bit but seeing that was like a light at the end of the tunnel. Our flight was returning to Denver! I got a ride and stayed the night instead of spending the night at the Denver airport. First class service! Great place and friendly staff always!!

Comfy beds, sold out of swim diapers before we got there so kids were sad they couldn't swim. Pack of Marlboro cigarettes in the gift shop was $13, a bic lighter was $5. Pop in the vending machines lack variety and costs $2.50 for bottled soda, and $2.75 for a Powerade or Monster. Not within walking distance to any store.
Rooms: Bed was comfy, had 2 TVs and a couch with 2 queen beds and a pull out couch and recliner. Should have had a bigger bathroom for how big the room was and how much empty space there was. Tub had mold on the grout and outdated shower head. The shower curtain rod was installed 2"+ higher than it should have been so it almost didn't work to keep water in the tub while showering.
Food and drinks: Oogie's restaurant is what's available for breakfast unless you go somewhere else. For 2 adults and 3 kids it was $70. It came quick and the waitress was very nice but it wasn't the most amazing French toast I've had, that's for sure.
Noteworthy details: Sold out of swim diapers, no complimentary breakfast, digital guest book, outdated bathroom, comfy beds, expensive gift shop and vending machines.

Absolutely the worst place in Deadwood, what a joke. Shit in the bathroom. Piss on the floor and the worst costumer service I've ever had. Don't stay there!!!!

I thought the hotel would be very nice! Looked like from the outside but when we got to our room it was filled with flys :(

Went to visit casino. Found it fun and fairly complete. Have added it to our deadwood monthly visit

Rooms: Room was nice but not well cleaned. The door handle to the shower was loose.
Water pressure was pretty good and the bathroom fan was powerful.
Nearby activities: Shuttle into deadwood is nice and only cost 2 dollars.

Disgusting hot tub experience!! My wife and I visit the lodge frequently for a night of gambling and relaxation in their hot tub. As long as I can remember, the hot tub has been full of hair and random stuff floating around!! I thought things would get better after summer and that it would be taken care of, especially all of the money that this building brings in all year round. $300 a night is already expensive, but they aren’t using any of their money to take care of their pool area. The pool and hot tub is run down, gross and not taken care of in the slightest. They obviously have enough money to buy a whole section of suites, so why can’t they take care of this? I have talked to locals about how they feel about the hot tub, and they all agree with me. If you want to keep your customers, clean the pool area!! hot tub especially!!

Truckers: No matter what they may tell you on the phone, this place is NOT truck friendly!!! Unbelievably, the desk people will say that it is, and you'll end up in a pickle.
It is probably a nice place but we never saw the inside. There is almost no grass for a dog if you have one.
Added after the response from the facility: wow, they clearly do not read what people say, do they!? I was clear about our experience and the response received is that they're glad we enjoyed ourselves!? There's really no excuse for this clear lack of interest in a potential guest. Should we return to Deadwood driving a regular car, we will make sure never to stay at The Lodge.

Great Stay, love the beds and pillows once you flatten them, lol. Left early only because we were on a mission to Montreal,

Rooms are nice. I've paid less for better rooms.
Don't quite understand the price other than you're paying to stay at a casino.

Pool and hot tub were dirty. They were both filled with food and hair.

This hotel was so filthy dirty that me and my family were completely disgusted. The hot tub had hairballs, flys, various other bugs, and a grimy film floating throughout it. I can’t imagine it had been cleaned anytime recently. The room was not much better. We were so disappointed to pay $279 for a night at a place that takes little to no pride in its cleanliness. The condition of the hot tub was so bad that I’m sure the health department would shut it down! If you plan to stay here I advise you to look elsewhere.
