Our tasting was informative, fun, and entertaining! The quality of the bourbons & whiskeys was top flight. We bought an amazing bourbon to take home and will seek them out online to buy more in the future!
David was the best! He taught us a lot & “converted another” 🙂 we bonded over honey & the south. Excellent experience.
Dave hosts an INCREDIBLE tasting experience. Definitely go give these folks some love!!
We did the tasting and it was wonderful. Dave was so knowledgeable, personable, and hilarious. Great place and the Bourbon is very reasonable.
The whiskey tasting would have probably been better if it hadn't been with a condescending jack wagon. I did end up purchasing a bottle that they held for me while we enjoyed the rest of the town of Deadwood, the only reason that I didn't give them 1 star. My son even said something after we left the store about how rude the guy acted.
Great spot to check out if you like Whiskey. All spirits are made in SD with home grown grains including heirloom corn. Doggo friendly and my boy found his own bottle of bourbon.
My husband and I stayed in Deadwood for a mini Vaca. Loved this place. Great tasting . Great host. Of course ….. we let with some whiskey. Coming back in a few weeks to visit again!! Thanks again!
Fantastic whiskeys and experience. Staff was very kind and also very knowledgeable. Walked out with two bottles but my bag carrying one bottle ripped and the bottle fell out and broke on the pavement. Staff offered a replacement bottle, along with triple bags. Will definitely be heading back next time I’m in Deadwood!
Wife and I Stopped in on Wednesday June 18th and was pleasantly surprised with a fantastic tasting experience. Really enjoyed discussing the different methods of distillation with Joel and watching the video of the operation. Everyone’s pallet is different and there is something there for everyone. I found what I liked the best and left with a good bottle to share with friends at home. Highly recommend and is worth your time. Only advice I’d give regarding the experience I had is to do it outside of busy hours and days if possible and be nice! 😊
Cool store. Super nice owner. Will educate you on the whiskeys, unlike a nearby tourist-focused place. Worthy of a stop as you head down the strip.

Wow! Had no idea what we were in for. Great merch, wonderful vibe to the store, friendly dog, and best of all loved the spirits. It’s a wonderful, non-overbearing, comfortable locale. Certainly not a neon tourist trap. Can’t wait to come back again. Support local!!
I stopped in to West River Whiskey Co. last week. I happened to catch the tail end of a whiskey sampling from. After it concluded I was asked if I wanted to do a sampling. I said for sure. He also asked why I didn't just join the one in progress. I said I didn't want to slow it down and I wanted to here some of the information again. The experience was AMAZING!!! Dave definitely knows what he's talking about. Learned a lot about the whiskeys and bourbons they sell. The whole experience was $20. You get a free glass and a lot of different samples. No obligation to buy, but I went with the high end bourbon. Ibgot to bottle and label it myself. 110% wortj it if in Deadwood and like bourbon and whiskey. Oh, and ask if Dave is available.
Dave was an amazing help. My wife ND I are whisky Officionatos. But Dave still taught us a few new things. Definitely coming back for more whiskey.
Excellent tasting of ten whiskies for $20 with a highly knowlegable host.
Karen was cool, whiskey was good too.
