Bars in Gettysburg, SD

“Years ago we were in Gettysburg on a pheasant hunt. Thanksgiving night we tried to find something to eat and the only place with any signs of life was this bar. We walked in and they let us know that they were closed for a family dinner they were having there. As we turned to leave one of people yelled to us to come back because, "far enough back we are all family". We stayed and ate with them and had the best thanksgiving I can remember. Such kind and hospitable people. We even ended up hunting with a few of them in the following few days. I doubt the owners even remember or will ever see this, but we still talk about them and their kindness to this day.“
