We stopped here in a road trip W along I90. Service was awesome, and everything was great. Their steak menu is limited to filet, but this is a place that knows what they are good at and does it well. Salad was chilled, steaks cooked to correct doneness, and prices were as good as anywhere I have been in the past 10 plus years. Our bill for 2 with soda to drink was less than $50 for 12 oz of filet each. Our server was super personable. We made a point to make it there on the way home as well. It is nice to see a place that does it right. Good food, great service, and reasonable prices. Can’t say enough good things about this place. I don’t do reviews, but wanted to support a place like this.

I brag about the steaks to friends from our of town and recommend to anyone looking for the best steak in the area. Huge lettuce wedge, custom baked potato, and the evenings cut of meat prepared how you want it. Soooo good!

Best kept secret in Hartford. I drove in (pleasant drive) and was able to park without an issue. Saw the Sinclair Gas next door and that was great!! (I only use Sinclair gas in my Subi WRX) The outside is a little indistinguishable from the surrounding homes, buildings, etc (which is GREAT, because it's so pleasing when you walk in.)
It's the older.pub style that I like. The ladies were charming and friendly.
It's a straightforward menu, there's a drink menu if you're looking for that too.
First impression, I liked the portions. The chop steak was delicious. I had a salad with bleu cheese crumbles. I should have asked for some Ranch but I didn't want to have too much dairy. I also had a loaded baked potato. Its was well worth it. Plenty of butter and both my steak and potato were served hot. Nothing is worse than a cold dish.
Sidenote: They have lemonade (I always like a nice cold lemonade. Add grenadine if you want a 'pink' lemonade.
You gotta go at least once. You definitely have a fan in Sioux Falls...
Parking: Pull right in, the Brown Jug across the street has 91 grade enthanol free gas priced very well. Plan to stay at the Tavern all you like.

Great opportunity to get out of Sioux Falls and experienced a small town steakhouse. The food was excellent, there is only one menu option but then some choices of toppings and sides. Service was delightful.
It is a very dark atmosphere, is lovely, but if you are heard of seeing may not be a great atmosphere.

This place is amazing! Out of this world service, the atmosphere is awesome, and the prime rib was great!! I was on a time constraint, so I couldn't try the desert, but I guarantee it would have been amazing as well. I had already dug through and tried the food before I took the photo, so take it with a grain of salt. I will definitely be back if I am ever back this way.
Service was great! Price was great! And the food was great!!! Could have cut my steak with a fork! What's not to love!? Make the trip to Hartford it'll be well worth the drive! PS... Try the key lime pie... It's fantastic!

Came here because we were spending the night in Hartford on our way out west for vacation. I have never had such a delicious steak for so little money! Everything was so tender, and that's from someone who takes their steak on the medium side. The wedge salad was really great too. It's a wedge of iceberg, but they pay great attention to detail and keep it ice cold and serve it on a chilled plate so the lettuce gives a satisfying crunch with each bite. Toppings and sides for the meal are generous too! We would definitely visit again if/when we're in the area!

Prime rib and ? margarita what a great dinner! Service was excellent, nice, and very prompt. Food was yummy. Atmosphere was nice.
Parking: It's a little parking lot. You may wind up walking if you don't get a spot by the building.
