My friend and I were biking on the George Mickelson Trail on 10/20/25 and found this spot for lunch. GREAT service so friendly. The place is so cute like a retro dinner w I Love Lucy playing in the TV! The food was very good and gluten free options! We got baked goods to go. Highly recommend this great deli/bakery.

What a great eating experience. The service was super fun and efficient. Huge selection on the menu. I was thrilled at the gluten free selections. Homemade egg salad potato salad was like mom made. This will be our go to place to eat in hill city from now on!!
This is a cozy little place with great food and friendly service. The menu has something for everyone.

Delicious food and exceptional customer service. As a tourist, our hostess was about to provide us with great local sites to visit. 10/10 highly recommend this place for breakfast and local knowledge!

Love this place-discovered it last year and we really enjoyed the waitress and the food. We returned last week and had a similar experience with the owner. She was great to talk to, and the food was super delicious. You can’t go wrong stopping here for breakfast.

Stacy, the owner is awesome. Very friendly and down to earth lady. I've eaten here 3 time in the past few weeks. The food is great. The home made burritos are unbelievably delicious with a variety of choices. Today Stacy has a bagel special. It is a must have. The employees are great. I recommend the Downtown Deli and Bakery. You can't go wrong. Very reasonable prices.

Step back into the diner of your dreams. From Andy Griffith on the TV to Super Tramp on the stereo. We had both of the daily specials which included homemade peach syrup on French toast. We had an absolutely lovely breakfast.

Came in for breakfast on a Wednesday morning in late September. It wasn’t very busy. We ordered and sat waiting for an hour. We had plans so we couldn’t wait longer. I told the waitress that we couldn’t wait any longer. She had never put our order in…

Amazing food! Not your typical boring burger and fries. Good quality homemade sandwiches and desserts. I had the chicken salad and my husband had the French dip. Both were great. And the apple pie was better then my Grammas!

Been there a few times in the past and Food was always good. This time food was terrible and service was just all right. I ordered a two egg breakfast with sausage and toast. My eggs were supposed to be over medium and they were over hard. The toast was just warm with butter placed on it and the pancake was so tough. You almost had to cut it with a knife.
My wife ordered two scrambled eggs and a pancake. The eggs look like they were thrown in a blender and mixed and came out crumbly and in the very small pieces the pancake had the same issue be too hard you would have to cut it with a knife almost just to eat it.
It was definitely a waste of money and time, and hopefully they could get their act together by hiring a new cook.
I traveled through Hill city. About five or six times a year and probably won’t stop there again for food. It’s a shame because it used to be good.
