“Visiting from out of town and was recommended by a friend to stop by. Great beer and staff! Bree was friendly and took great care of us, hope to stop by when we are back in town again!”
“Chuck the owner was awesome! We are from Albany NY and he was so friendly and welcoming. He was a living breathing wine list! The simplicity of the outside and inside of the restaurant was very welcome. And then there was the food!!!! The best part of our visit. Thank you thank you thank you for everything we chose from your delightful menu!!! We LOVED it. ❤️”
“Nice little family owned place. Small place with walk-up windows. Large variety of food from things like onion rings, burgers and deep fried shrimp to wonderful ice cream dishes! We only had the ice cream treats but several folks ordered the other stuff while we were there. We love to support the local family owners places and especially when they are doing things right!”
“Shawn was freaking awesome! Best shop owner ever. She was so friendly and fun. Made the experience a pure enjoyment. I was only visiting, but if I lived nearby, I would be here all the time. Great wines. Great tastes. Atmosphere gave the experience a worthwhile appeal.”
“Best food in Hill City! This little taco truck is SOOOO delicious!!! It's fresh and delicious. The chicken tacos are my favorite and the salsa is excellent too.”
“After doing some sightseeing on a wet weekday, we stopped here for an early lunch. 1130am. Even then, we had to wait briefly to be seated. Fortunately, just before a tour bus group arrived. Attentive wait staff. Delicious German food! Cash only, but an ATM is on site!”
“Delicious pizza! We ordered 3 different pizzas and they were all so good. Very friendly staff and quiet atmosphere. The sweet red wine was very good as well. Prices seemed affordable and serving sizes perfect.”
“After traveling most of the country, this brewery/winery is hands down the coolest! In terms of atmosphere and service as well as quality and variety of their offerings, we were so impressed! We shared a delicious made to order pizza to accompany our drinks; it was such a fun evening! ?”
“I was happy they could accommodate my gluten allergy. I enjoyed the gluten free ribs and a baked potato. The bathroom was clean, and the server was very nice and helpful and efficient. My friend liked her Elk Bison burger.”
“It was a hot day during the bike rally and the family and i stopped for something to cool is off. That's when the manager gave them a free dipped cone each! Very friendly staff and ice cream was just as good as any Dairy Queen. Only reason for not giving that last start would be the interior seemed a bit run down, but other than that it was great!”
“Walking around Hill City we found this for lunch. Very happy! My brisket sandwich was great and my wife loved (and couldn't finish) her roast beef sandwich. Plenty of filling food! Service was great and we really enjoyed the 'saloon' interior - always love the textured meatal ceiling.”
“We tried to stop here on Sunday at 5pm and the location was closing for the season and they wouldn't let us eat. No signs on the door with the hours other than that Sunday, Oct 17th was their last day at that location. Don't plan to eat there.”
“We ate a mid-morning breakfast. It was one of the only options in Hill City. Reviews I had read were mixed, but we had a good experience. The food was pretty average breakfast fare with prices a bit on the high side. Our server was great. Overall it was a decent place to eat and we enjoyed it.”
“My family stopped there on the way back to Madison, WI. We met other Wisconsin people there. There were so rightwing posters that showed some of the weird stereotypes they have of urban people. The food was good, and the people were nice. I wouldn't avoid then on account of the rightwing stuff because the signs indicated they won't be bullied by political liberals, and it's good for them to see people like my family in Madison have no thought or desire to do so.”

“Our family of seven (4 generations) from Texas visited Prairie Berry Winery for lunch while traveling to Wyoming and South Dakota for Fall Break. My dad, my daughter and myself did the wine tasting and I had been looking forward to it!! Unfortunately the wines at Prairie Berry were not to our liking.. We had ordered the Chef’s Plate Charcuterie Board, the Roasted Turkey Sandwich and the Grilled Cheese w/Tomato Soup. Even though we did not have a glass of wine with the charcuterie board, it was still Delish!! One of the best boards I have ever had!! And the sandwiches were just as Yummy!! The employees were very friendly and the restaurant, wine tasting area and the restrooms were very clean! If I am ever in Hill City again, I will go back to Prairie Berry for the charcuterie board and the grilled cheese w/tomato soup!!”
